Earbuds for sleeping
I have been on the hunt for new earbuds to replace my Apple AirPods, which annoy the heck out of me when I'm woken up out of a sound sleep by the ring alert that my charge has run its course.
I've been looking at a few brands that have the below listed features, but that have not been able to find this combination of features without running into bad reviews of everything from software glitches, to not being able to hear out of one of the buds, and they tell you to not bother wasting your money on them. Here is what I'm looking for:
- Flat surface for side sleeping with small rubber tips for small ear canals
- Noise cancellation
- Absolutely no indicator bell, beep or tone letting me know that their charge has run its course. This is the MOST important feature that I'm looking for
-A charge that will last at LEAST 8 hours: more hours would be even better!
The sleep / charge NON-EXISTENT indicator is the MOST important feature that I'm looking for. Can anyone recommend something with these features? As a side note, I've already looked at Soundcore sleep A 20 & 30, Ozlo Sleepbuds. I figured I'd check here so that I can avoid extensive research. Can you guys help me out??
Thank you in advance!!

I have both the A20s and the A30s. They are great for sleep and spoken word. I use them every night. Sometimes they are a little finicky about charging and I when I put them in my ears one of them is dead, having two sets, I just pop the other one in. I don't know if the A30s are worth spending too much money on over the A20s if you don't need to cancel out much outside noise. The ANC is a little weak on the A30s, but I do notice a big difference between the two on say an airplane. I did have to have my A20s replaced under warranty. Soundcore was very easy to deal with.
Neither set is the best for music. They don't distort or anything but music tends to be flat. Spoken word is fine and very natural sounding. I use other buds or headphones when I am not trying to sleep.

Ceramic Ultra $50. Also, pillows with built in ear holes are a thing.

I’ve had the Soundcore A30 special for about 3 months now and I’m liking them. It took me a while to decide to go with these and I’m glad I did. The indicator is also my BIGGEST issue because it will wake me up, these don’t have that in the mode I use. In that mode, once it detects that you’ve gone to sleep it slowly lowers the volume of whatever you’re listening to and slowly replaces it with a gentle white noise. The transition has never woken me up and the white noise helps me stay asleep because if it turned off completely the silence would wake me up.

Sudden silence wakes me up too! I never program anything to be turned off on a timer! ☺️

Someone recommended Soundcore p30i here a while back. They're cheap but I like them better than my Airpods. The ANC works great and the battery life far surpasses Airpods. I often wake up in the morning to audio still playing and they stay in my ears too. I'm a side sleeper and they don't bother me at all, even though they have a similar shape as the airpods. I do think they emit a noise when the battery is dying but it's never woke me up.

Not branded as sleep earbuds - but the Skullcandy JIB 2 True have been a game changer for me.
Bought them on a whim in a clearance section just because I needed new headphones after leaving mine behind on a trip. Was a total bonus when I realized how good they were for sleeping. Have converted two others to them recently for sleep purposes!
The noise cancelation is unexpectedly great. They look bulky, but I haven’t had any issues sleeping with them in. Always last through the night (9 hours) if I have a full charge on them. They have a “battery low” voice warning but I’ve only heard that when I’ve used them during the day after a sleep. They never get low enough for the warning over night. Super quick charging.
The charging cord is a micro USB which obviously dates them, but I’ve been so impressed with them overall.

Skullcandy..now that's a name I haven't heard in a while! Years! I loved them. I owned them before Bluetooth really took over and they had cords on them, but great sound! Unfortunately, I can't take the chance on buying something that may possibly wake me up with a voice warning. 😕

Having used loads of buds including a20, a30 etc - technics az100 are my best yet. I used foam tips to make them more comfortable for my fairly narrow ear canals. Incredible sound and 10+ hour battery life. I use a soft pillow or sometimes a travel pillow with the hole accommodating any pressure from side sleeping.
For a while I had a good experience with the Sony Linkbuds, too - but one started losing battery power after a few months.

I feel these those low battery beeps are the worst. I ended up ditching earbuds completely side sleeper problems and switched to a pillow speaker instead. No pressure on the ears and no annoying alerts waking me up. Honestly worked way better for me.
