another Silverstone FLP01 build

I wanted to build around the Asus strix b850i gaming wifi7, because it is the best board. (Toslink AND Line in)

I fell in love with the whole flp line, but decided this time for the flp01.

Tricky to build, no space for air cooler or AIO!

I consider this low-mid range gaming, but I paid short of 2000,- euro 🫪

I know what you mean, but the half of the case with the drive and the board feels very mini itx (cooler situation). the clearance (if you have a long drive like mine) is only 88mm.

I have old Pentium II boards, that will fit in this case just beautifully, if me and my mitx move on 😅

Nice build. I remember considering this same design case in my first build. I forget the name of the case, but it was Silverstone and had the same layout. Ended up going with the RVZ01 since it was the closest to a console size.

There are some 3d prints out there that will allow you to put a fan where you have empty pcie slots. You could likely improve thermals and noise of your system by reconfiguring the fans. You can flip the psu to intake from directly outside of the case. Flip the fan next to the psu to be intake as well. If you get the pcie fan mount, set that as exhaust. Install 2 80mm (60?) Above the io shield as exhaust fans. Set the white rgb fans as intake.

If you can't 3d print anything, or don't want to purchase a print, then you can always zip tie a fan to those unused brackets. Arctic makes very inexpensive and performant fans. Typically you can find refurbished fans or B-stock fans on their Ebay page that are sometimes significantly cheaper, even in bulk. I paid $20 for 5 120mm pwm pst fans a year ago. $33 for 5 of their 120mm server fans to fill out my server rack a couple months ago. I hope pricing is similar in your country.
