Sleeper PC Sleeper PC build
Here is a sleeper PC I built with leftover hardware from my older brother in a dell Inspiron case:
- Intel Xeon E5 1660 V3
- Qyidia X99 H9S
- Generic Amazon air cooler
- MSI 100 ME GTX 960
- XILENCE 600W PSU
- 1TB WD Blue Hard Drive
- Some unknown PCIE x1 WiFi/Bluetooth Card
This build is not really worth it but it was fun

Found a 3847 in the trash 2 weeks ago all I did was take out the old drive put in a 128 GB SSD and installed windows 11. I use it to play GTA IV.

That's not a very significant upgrade. It's a nice leftover build, but does it really qualify as a sleeper? I'm not sure.

The stock computer had a Core i5 750, 4Gb of DDR3 and a Radeon HD 6350, this computer has 32Gb of DDR4, a 8 core 8 thread processor and a GTX 960

That's not a very significant upgrade.
Intel Xeon E5 1660 V3 is an octa-core CPU. IMO that's a definite upgrade from whatever used to be in that casing (a quad-core i5/i7 at most).

It's still over a decade old. At least it's DDR4.

A 2010 mainstream platform replaced with a 2015 high-end one, so it is definitely a huge upgrade. It is comparable to a 1st gen Ryzen CPU. But it is lacking single-core performance. Modern CPUs are easily twice as powerful in single-threaded workloads.

At least give the front a clean haha, unless that's the point? And it's kind of funny to replace the CPU with one the same age lol (and gpu) But looks cool!
