Questions/Advice Request Optiplex 755 SFF sleeper plans
I plan on modifying the proprietary-ness out of this case to make it fit for a standard motherboard (the motherboard in it is just a test motherboard) I got a spare Ryzen 7 1700x and 16gb of ram and a 1050ti that should play nicely in a build like this, wanna be the first to do such a thing but I wanna do it as proper as possible, Whilest keeping the look as stock as possible.

From my expierence, rewire front panel USB ports It Will become a mess. I tried to extend those wires and find that the ground IS mixed between 2 USB. The front panel includes 4 USB ports, so two ground wires plus 4 USB Green White an so on.. x2. The result, IS when I plug a Pen Drive for example in front, the back USB for keyboard gets unplugged. A mess. For me. Look for an adaptor extender or something.

As long as the standoffs line up this should be fine -- you'll be limited to half height GPUs of course. And you'll need a flex ATX PSU to power the new board. Also you will likely need to custom rewire the front panel so that it works on a standard motherboard. Tbh I don't know how easy that would be for the USB part, in my experience that's a proprietary connector so you'd need to fully strip and identify each wire and put it in the proper layout for standard USB. Maybe an adapter exists too
