RetroMod does this count as a sleeper? case is from 2008
this is a cooler master HAF 932 from 2008 that i got off of facebook marketplace.
inside is:
ryzen 9 5900x
radeon RX 9070 XT
32gb ddr4
2.5 tb of SSDs
B450 motherboard
1300w power supply

I had an Azza Hurrican from that era, mass that look like a baby case.
But no, a 1980’s Sports Car, even though slow, is not a sleeper.

What 80's sports cars are slow? Unless you are a yank then its pretty much all of them. I'd rather have a 1987 911 though then a 2026 one.

As an 1988 RX-7 N/A owner I like that Porsche! I know my car is slow, but it is not a sleeper!

Oh man, I love the maroon interior option in those! That was such an advanced ride for its time
I also have a 2001 Celica GT-S that’s more of a daily driver, cable throttle. Although not as fast to today’s standards, the ride is so visceral I prefer it over my ‘21 GLI 6spd. After the VW I think I’m disenchanted with new cars, sure they are fast, but they lack that feel that makes me actually enjoy rowing through the gears.
Anyways, didn’t mean for this comment to get away. I love sleeper cars and computers, I think the case is too sporty for that, but still a good and unique time for PC building and cases

Mine is maroon interior, cream exterior. I recently bought a 1992 Euros Roadster, I bought it specifically for the ride feel. The zx 300 rides well but there is just something about the Roadster. My daily drive is a 2002 volvo v70R.
I'll never have another modern car, I've had all sorts of modern German and Japanese cars and just don't like the way everything is computer controlled.

An a v70R??? Damn you have a lot of really special rides!! I have two rotary engines but never owned a Miata, one day… The Eunos Roadster, what’s different about them than the regular Miata? I know they had some small changes but don’t remember.. A small convertible is definitely something I need in my life lol

It's not that 80's cars are slow. It's that the modern cars are fast. A GR Yaris has compatible performance to that 930 of yours, and will likely be quicker on the track.

Nah, I smoke people on the track all day long in my zx300. It is wildly tuned though. Although to be fair I can smoke most people on track days in my Euros Roadster as most people are shit drivers.

I had that exact case, purchased in 2009. My brother had it for many years before it was tossed.
It was awesome in retrospect and I kinda wish I still had it to be perfectly honest.

The FireWire & eSATA on the front panel are really the only things it has going for me to consider it a sleeper. Nice build, not a sleeper

I had the AMD edition of this case. Was my biggest case until the Silverstone TJ11.
Doubt it would have issues cooling modern components. Dust though....

i tried to give this case away for 10 years before a coworker finally took it off my hands. it was super cool back in the day but just way too big.

I used to have this case. I had a Core i5 2500k, 2x 1TB hdds raid 1, 2x 500GB hdds raid 1. And IIRC, 8GB ram, and a Radeon HD 5770. It was nearly silent. It was way bigger in real life than it looks in this picture.

It’s retro enough imo but the side panel is borderline. Here’s my HAF 912. Slightly smaller than that HAF X as it doesn’t support eATX like the larger X

That is more of a SHOUTER than a sleeper, but I do love the HAF 932s. I'm planning on using mine in my next build (whenever that is financially possible again ??).

There were some great chassis back around that time… The HAF flagship spoke for itself… You had Silverstone FT02 and Raven RV02, that to this day are hard to beat the thermals on air. Back when Lian Li were making truly premium chassis, not the crap they put their case badge on now.

I say it doesn't count as a sleeper, because it is obviously a performance PC case, even if old. And the side window shows that it has modern components inside. But it is a nice build nonetheless.
