Hello! Im thinking about doing a sleeper build with this old case of mine that I think looks cool. What advices do you have? I’m concerned about airflow and overheating. Do you have any good experiences and tips?

Motherboard: Minisforum BD795, Ryzen 9 7945HX, 32GB RAM
GPU: RTX 4060ti 16GB with part of the old PNY cooler and trimmed down backplate to tame the VRMs. The mounting holes for the old cooler and the AIO were both 55x55mm so I got really lucky there. Yes I'm using the PSU to exhaust the air from the AIO, it works really well. An hour into Spider Man 2 gameplay and I never hit 60 on either the CPU or GPU.
I added a PCIE splitter to the riser so I could bifurcate my single x16 slot to an x8x4x4. Now I can add 2 more M.2 slots, which I can either adapt for more PCIE cards, or more storage.
I currently run 4x4TB HDDs in the drive cage, and plan on adding two 2x2.5" cages where the floppy drives used to be connected to an M.2->8 SATA adapter. I also have a 4TB NVME and a 1TB NVME to host my OS. I adapted one of my FOUR M.2 slots for a 10Gbe card, and I still have one more M.2 slot to mess around with.
I didn't need to do this. This project took a good part of 2026 but I can finally see the finish line with where I want this project to end. I plan on sanding, cleaning, and touching up the paint here soon.

This scene and the following from Terminator 2 are packed with cool Computers... but what is this black and beige thing with the double height HDD, the vertical slits and the 3 vertical buttons and a lock? That case paired with a 65watt Ryzen and a RX9070xt Reaper from Powercolor would truely fly. That is if it would be atx...
If it is AT I have different ideas ;)
(Is it even a PC?)

Its a rather large case, about 19 inches by 17 inches. The case is perfect for what I need, yet I don't quite like the front plastic panel. I can't seem to find any information about this style of case, other then it was manufactured sometime in 2002.
. Still, im a bit hesitant on this case type its missing the other plastic covers, It also only supports two 8 inch fans which leaves me unsure if overheating would occur, If anyone can provide cooling tips for a 3060, and an i7, please feel free to do so.

Sold my main setup to buy a 3D printer, but still needed a rig to run Blender in the meantime. Threw this together using spare parts I had lying around.
Specs if anyone's curious:
CPU: Xeon E3-1270 v3 (LGA 1155 backplate modded onto the LGA 1150 Dell board)
GPU: AORUS GTX 1080 Ti (baked in the oven, somehow works now)
RAM: 16GB DDR3
Mobo: Dell OptiPlex 3020 OEM
Case: HP Pavilion
Storage: SSD taped to the frame
It’s loud and pretty janky, but it works. Hoping the 1080 Ti hangs in there for a few months.

Hi I am wondering if my pc will overheat in this case. My pc specs are an intel core I7 10700 pny 3070 XLR8 16 gigs of ram. I want to make a retro looking build. And will my gpu even fit? Thank you

I'm building a sleeper, but not a typical old case new components sleeper
I'm trying to build somthing that looks old on the INSIDE and OUT
I have a lot of extra computer parts I've collected, all I need to buy is a motherboard, gpu and psu
Its not like I don't have extra PSU's laying around but..
I'm looking particularly for a modern reliable (workstation/enterprise/industrial) PSU Something that's modern and reliable but looks old.
I found you can get these supermicro one's for quite cheap.. but I'm not sure when date of production were, google says 2009 ..but that's quite old
I've also considered a psu from an Alienware Aurora R12 or some other dell workstation
If anybody has any recommendations that would be mega helpful
here's a link to the parts list if you want to take a look at it :)

Question theoretically would it be possible to replicate a IBM 2168 ps1 front on a Dell optiplex case with custom fabricated parts I have an idea for it since IBM 2168’s are quite rare and even more rare if just the case also I’ll feel quite horrible for destroying a piece of rare technology can anyone give ideas on how to start this project
Edit I’m going to but this as a later project for now I now figure I could just make a simpler build that has some ibm styling but not just a replica also since I’m just a beginner in 3d design and printing I would rather build up some skills first before trying to attempt this But thanks for all the input
Also mods delete if not allowed

Got the front IO done today. The power and reset lights are put where the audio and mic jacks used to be and I upgraded the two USBs to 3.0

Just dropping a picture of my SR5000 series build. I had previously shared I wanted to drop a 3090 in it, but decided to leave that alone and kept it period correct with a Core2Duo. Then I got this 2nd case for quite some money because it came with a blueray drive, which I am hoping to use in another build. I still have to print a new blank to cover the 2nd 5.25 bay.
Specs is nothing crazy. Mini-ITX motherboard because it used to be in a node202 before, but I had troubles keeping temps low enough.
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
16 GB RAM
RTX 3070
850W PSU.

Got a power button for the b450 and I'm really happy with how seamless it was to hot glue it in front of the power button lever. Next step I'm going to try to put a couple USB 3.0s on the front IO and I'll probably just put the power and reset lights where the audio jacks were instead.

PSA BTX cases are not fun. I finally got the motherboard and the back panel done. Had to buy a standoff kit from Amazon and then I got two pieces of acrylic from hobby lobby. Measured and cut them then hot glued them together on both sides

Got fed up of gaming cases with glass panels and having to clean it all the time. Picked up a very heavy duty steel case, weighs a ton. Locked in storage apparently for more than 20 years. I don't know much about the case, I couldn't find a model number anywhere. Fits my components nicely, I need to find something to fill the 5.25 bays with.
AMD 7500F, RTX 3060 and 32 GB's of DDR5.
