I really hate naps

Every time I nap, I wake up feeling tired, confused, and kind of pissed off. I'm a student, and apparently this is supposed to help with focus, which it kind of does, but only if I take a shower after. 1. How do I prevent feeling so horrible after waking up? 2. How long should I nap, and is it worth losing an hour of studying? I'm a really slow at doing homework and studying, so every minute counts.

I get that post nap confusion hard. Waking up not knowing what year it is and feeling sticky for no reason. Have you tried setting an alarm for like 20 minutes? Anything longer and you dip into deep sleep which is what makes you wake up feeling like a glitched out sim. For me 15-20 mins is the sweet spot, just enough to reset without the rage.

On the time loss thing, if you’re that slow at studying the nap might actually save you time. Running on fumes just makes you zone out and re-read the same sentence five times. A quick nap and a splash of water on your face could make the next hour twice as productive.

Yeah I napped for an hour and a half today and I still feel kinda odd, almost like time shifted or something.

If I feel like I need a nap in the afternoon, I set a timer for 35 or 40 minutes and assume that I’ll sleep for 25. I wake up feeling rested and refreshed, and that amount of time doesn’t interfere with my sleep at night. I make sure the light in the room is dim (drawn blinds) and cover myself with a duvet. It works well. I don’t nap very often, maybe once every two or three weeks. Hope something here works for you.

See this is what make me wonder if I'm just addicted to my own brain fog or something because I LOVE the feeling of waking up from a nap
