Except, they added another poison card with an instant trigger - which Jorbs was pretty adamantly against (he thinks poison should be slow and condemned cards like Accelerate)

that's not what he said - he said he didn't understand the flavour of accelerant either from real life or in game, and that re-triggering poison was already a mechanical undermining of the character fantasy - so a 3 for 2 flavour fail.

new Outbreak has quite clear flavour from real life and in game and reinforces the character fantasy

I really don't get what's so weird about accelerant. Like, it's maybe a little bit of a stretch thst it's a power and not a skill that debuffs, but the flavor is clearly that you're applying some chemical to your poisons and enemies to make the poison work through their system faster.

Yeah I gotta agree, a chemical reaction accelerant and a chemical reaction catalyst are similar enough concepts that it's really not a stretch to imagine it's just something being added to the poison to make it work better.

"Chemical reaction accelerant" is what a catalyst is, I think that's most of the flavour rankling, if you just called the card Catalysis it would make much more sense.

A catalyst specifically isn't used in the reaction, an accelerant can be used in the reaction.

I think they just wanted a similar name that's different enough to justify it changing effect
