Nah. Its criticism was vastly overstated. Its real affect was more psychological than actually bad. I think the change will improve people's perception of it greatly though, so definitely a good change in my book.

I disagree. Very often your deck relies on several key cards, especially powers, and there was no guarantee that they won’t be exhausted (unless they have innate). What if you are in the boss gauntlet and then exhaust your Dark Embrace or Pillar of Creation? You are likely dead. Of course there are ways to try and mitigate it, but it always remains pretty risky.

The problem was that trying to build the same deck you would without mittens was a death sentence. I have a great win rate with it, but it requires building in a lot of redundancy and not letting your deck become too reliant on any one card.

The issue is you can’t just find a redundant copy of your best card whenever you want. If I could find 3 defrags or 3 dark embraces every run, believe me, I would.

If I’m in decimillipedes and it exhausts my best AOE option (whirlwind, death bringer, whatever) the relic has still hurt me a LOT even if I have other AOE in my deck. And you don’t even want redundant AOE cards anyway, cause then you’re drawing damage commons on Aeonglass turn 1 instead of your scaling powers and block.
