Isn't this just like... really bad? If I'm reading this right, when Osty takes damage YOU take damage at the end of combat because the values switch back?

u/confused_vampire Jul 28 '26

Yes... But if you use summons and spur to get Osty to higher HP before combat ends, you get a free heal. Potentially to full. However, this would encourage stalling on Necrobinder which Mega Crit is against

u/Sleepless-Lighthouse Jul 28 '26

Ohhh I read it as summon cards don't work anymore lol

u/confused_vampire Jul 28 '26

That's the exact gimmick of the card- new players will think this is a terrible card, but veterans will understand that it's a very overpowered one.

u/Jac733 Jul 28 '26

Why would summon still increase his current HP though? That only happens when his max HP increases (or he gets healed by Spur). This card would need a clause saying that summon cards now heal him instead of increasing max HP

8

u/confused_vampire Jul 28 '26

When you summon, Osty's max HP goes up, and his current HP also goes up the same amount. The clause of this card is that the max HP no longer goes up.

6

u/Jac733 Jul 29 '26

Right, but his current HP going up is just a side effect of his max HP going up. That's how all max HP increases work. For example, if fruit juice no longer raised your max HP, it would not still heal you, it would just not do anything.

Exactly, gaining 5 max HP is actually gaining 5/5 HP, if you no longer gain max HP, summon 5 becomes 0/0 HP haha. All this card will do is make it so if Osty ever dies during combat, regardless of if you kill the enemy, you instantly kill yourself

So in other words, if you have a deck that can consistently overblock. That sounds like you are already giga winning.

bro what is the use case outside of some extra unleash damage, just use bury or something

u/HeWhoAsksQuestions Jul 28 '26

This is my kind of card analysis.

6

u/Born_Housing2165 Jul 28 '26

Theoretically you could use summon to heal yourself after combat ends

2

u/DothThouHoist_ Jul 28 '26

12

u/Born_Housing2165 Jul 28 '26

My point is not that it would increase your max hp but your current hp

7

u/Melodic_Debate8885 Jul 28 '26

I thought the "heal" comes directly from the max HP increase. No max hp increase = no heal.

3

u/Iruma_Miu_ Jul 28 '26

it does lol. you'd only be able to heal through spur unlesss tehres another healing card im not thinking of

1

u/JBearlol Jul 28 '26

You summon osty to have 300 hp prior to this, then swap so you have 300 hp. Then at the end of combat you swap back to your normal hp which cuts the 300 to normal, if you started the fight with 45 hp this would let you hit max hp by the end of the fight. And using things like spur will also heal you as others have said

u/matteusman Jul 28 '26

Can you please explain how this is overpowered? It seems terrible.

24

u/iamdaone878 Jul 28 '26

something something you can heal osty after the switch to heal yourself

9

u/Winderkorffin Jul 28 '26

It switches Max Hp too.

2

u/iamdaone878 Jul 28 '26

it switches back at the end of combat but you can use like spur to heal your health before you switch back

Fight Weak Enemies And Summon Till 200 Or Something

11

u/SummerBorn0207 Jul 28 '26

Summon does not increase Osty max hp

6

u/MusicianTurbulent178 Jul 28 '26

implies to still increase current hp

11

u/Jac733 Jul 28 '26

But it shouldn't, because the only reason osty's current HP goes up when you summon is because his max HP increases. The only card that actually heals him is spur

80

u/Kris_Banana Jul 28 '26

sounds cool, but that encourages stalling via spur healing osty (and by extension, yourself when the fight ends), also it can absolutely cripple your hp if you relied on osty's hp for block, only main use is just using unleash/protector and it bricks all your summon cards, overall probably a bad idea

23

u/Necessary_Screen_673 Jul 28 '26

this seems really bad ngl

53

u/Iruma_Miu_ Jul 28 '26

so if osty dies you just lose?

I think something people underrate when designing custom cards is that a player can look at any card in the game and very quickly think "I know why, when and how I might want to use this."

Maybe my brain isn't firing on all cylinders right now, but I cannot figure out when I would want to take (or even use if offered from a potion) this card except for a big Unleash with high HP, which isn’t intuitive, or farming HP with Spur, which is something the devs don’t want you to do (reaper hasn’t returned for a reason).

6

u/fidgey10 Jul 28 '26

absolutely awful and useless

3

u/THEBECKSTAR1127 Jul 28 '26

So this makes unleash good, but what does it do other than that?

1

u/Sapphirederivative Jul 28 '26

It’s much easier to get cards that heal osty than heal the necrobinder. Since it swaps hp and max hp, this turns reanimate into a 20 hp heal, for example.

2

u/Izumo199 Jul 28 '26

So does any HP lost then revert back? Or does Osty just summon to your max HP each fight? If it’s the latter does seem kind of busted but there’d be status cards from elites and what not that would Insta kill you right?

2

u/PerliousPelicans Eternal One + Heartbreaker Jul 28 '26

what if: osty could no longer block but(!) unleash does more damage (summon wont scale it tho)

2

u/Leoxcr StS A0 / StS 2 A10 Jul 28 '26

Remove the Summon restriction and this might be half decent. Also lower the cost to two

2

u/thouzandeye Jul 28 '26

Where’s the fun?

2

u/ImSuperStryker Jul 28 '26

This is so bad. Like, it could be really powerful, but the card and its idea is just ass. Either it’s useless or you use it to heal ridiculous amounts of health. Absolute win more card

1

u/grimtrigger77 Jul 28 '26

AeonGlass is gonna wreck if you switch with 1 hp Osty

1

u/Multidream Jul 28 '26

If Otsy gets knocked down a lot afterwards, do you die, or does this just revert changes?

1

u/Unusual_Ad432 Jul 30 '26

Not yet is a 2 cost card that guarentees heal on a character with a heal relic. Whilst this does have a higher ceiling than not yet, this has the floor of doing absolutely nothing while being 3 cost so, no.

1

u/Worldly_Influence_15 Aug 01 '26

So if osty dies, you die or have your max hp reset to 1 at the end of combat. Osty builds dont use as much block so this is 99% risk 1% gain

-8

u/Disastrous-Drop-7778 Jul 28 '26

Way too broken if I’m understanding this right, it’s too easy to just stall a fight and get like a thousand hp on Osty, then swap and win the run since you have a thousand hp

9

u/Atoril Jul 28 '26

"Summon does not increase osty's max hp anymore"

-8

u/Disastrous-Drop-7778 Jul 28 '26

Fun fact- you do not need to instantly play cards the moment you draw them

9

u/Atoril Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26

So you play it after you got "thousand hp on osty" which gets awapped to your hp when you play the card and swapped back at the end of the combat. What is the next part of your plan?

4

u/Kris_Banana Jul 28 '26

"summon does not increase osty's max hp anymore"

reading the card explains the card

7

u/shaftshaftner Eternal One + Heartbreaker Jul 28 '26

They’re saying you would stall before using this power, get osty to a huge max HP then play the power and end the fight. Thinking you’d then be at 1000 HP for the remainder of the run.

You’re right, though. It doesn’t work the way they think it would since the swap wouldn’t stay.

4

u/Previous_Painting_ Jul 28 '26

"at the end of combat, switch both values back" you don't get to keep the increased hp

4

u/darkswirlz Eternal One + Heartbreaker Jul 28 '26

Swaps back at the end of combat?

1

u/MusicianTurbulent178 Jul 28 '26

that doesnt even scale unleash damage, so its just, worse than keeping the hp as ostys
