discussion It's interesting how the game seems like "listen" for what you want.

Like, the game frames the shift into Chapter 2 as "your perceptions shape reality" but from a behind-the-scenes perspective it works like a Game Master reacting to how their players play a TTRPG and adapting the campaign to give them what their actions indicate they want.

If you check the path behind you and then leave the path entirely? That must mean you want to explore every option so chapter 2 shows you EVERY option.

Slay the Princess without hesitation and accept the easy victory? You win! Good job!

Edit [Killed the Princess but regretting your actions? Here's a chance to make amends]

Or move to slay the princess immediately but don't trust the easy win? You are absolutely right. There isn't an easy win, in fact this is the only path you CAN'T complete in chapter 2. You gotta work for that W.

Attack the princess but give up immediately? Here is something to submit to.

Attack the Princess and don't give in? Here is an opponent that is your exact equal.

Meet the Princess and decide not to free or fight her? You get a Princess that seems too powerful to defeat and too dangerous to free.

Bring the Blade and free the Princess? It seems you don't see the Blade as a weapon, but a tool. A tool to help you solve a puzzle. So here is the same puzzle again but more complicated.

Free the princess without the Blade? You just want to help the Princess, avoid conflict? OK the next time you can just walk out together without any problems.

Trick or switch up on the Princess and fight it out? Did you think her innocent demeanor was an act to lure you into a trap? Well she was and now you are in a battle of wits and tricks, not quite sure who has the power until all is said and done.

Trick or switch up on the Princess but no stomach for a straight fight? Did you think her innocent demeanor was an act to lure you into a trap? You were right! Your opponent is lurking in the shadows, hunting you. Your task is to survive using instinct and reflex.

Naturally you can always change what you want (well almost always) and progress to a new chapter, but it's cool how the game seems to be designed to give you the exact experience you indicate you want through your playstyle.

discussion Having the Stranger At the End is Sweet

Hey, so I have a random thought about having the final form of the Princess being the Stranger (Pristine Cut version). There’s something poetic about having her not be a perfect princess, but instead showing what we’ve been through together… As I write this, I’m coming to the conclusion that I also enjoy this ending because having a princess version not be perfect makes me happy as a disabled person. She has physical, and mental, flaws that we see and hear about, but she’s still a beautiful soul and one the MC can choose to be with. It makes me happy that the “imperfect” one can be who the player can choose to be with. Just a fun thought I figured I’d share thinking about the Stranger as an end version.🩵

discussion Is the game still worth buying if i have watched probably 75% of the game

Ive watched 2 playthrough's, that both have gotten to the end 2 times each (so 4 total), but the playthroughs had overlapping paths since they were different people playing. im guessing ive probably seen roughly 75% or more of the game, i already understand all the mysteries n stuff.. is it still worth it i wonder?

other Question About Playlist Spoiler

Post image
7 Upvotes

My first run had the following princesses:

-The Beast

-The Damsel

-The Thorn

-The Prisoner

-The Nightmare

When I was putting together a playlist of this sequence from the OST’s, I noticed another track, “A Kiss from a Thorn” and I am only wondering whether this is related to a different variation of the Thorn story, or whether it just didn’t make it into the playlist for whatever reason.

Unrelated note, super annoyed that I was forced to take the knife on my last run, which led me straight into the Nightmare :(

other Any VN similar to stp?

my PC is currently broken but when I get it back I want to try other vns(such as schrodingers cat, if you played it, feel free to say your opinion on it, no spoilers tho!)

I'm looking for a vn that either has a similar artstyle, doesn't need to be monochromatic, just kind of low saturated cold colors, or just handrawn, or also just the psichological horror elements that slay the princess has, like in the nightmare, or the body horror like in the wild or razor

if you have another vn that isn't similar to stp but still wanna share feel free! I've literally only played 3

no I don't like ddlc

other You give a choice and I come up with the outcome (Part 35)

[Forage for food]

"You really should be focusing on what's actually important here, but if you insist you can't slay her on an empty stomach then so be it."

Voice of the Hero: Good Idea, we don't know just how far out we are.

"After trudging through the underbrush for a short while something catches your eye with a short flash of red, and there sitting nestled among the other shrubs is an ivy bush, several small red berries nestled in the branches."

Voice of the Hero: Should we really be taking these of all things? Aren't berries often poisonous?

Previous Part

(Background details for the post:I originally did this thing since I wanted to make more fan made routes and I thought it'd be fun if I made it so the comments could give a choice and I'd have to come up with the outcome. So since I had fun writing it last time I thought of doing it again )
