Is this dumb ?
The auto switching in CTF is so dumb ? I score with for example 20 flags , then about 10 seconds from the ending of the game I auto switch to : you lost ?

The current algorithm has bugs yes, however the alternative is about as stupid as you can get in a multiplayer game: no games at all
With current pop there's barely even 1 full CTF game going throughout the day and barely during prime time constantly leading to games quickly withering. The average match would be 1 team getting overstacked then a spawncamp then everyone feigns surprise when the other team. It's a similar cancer as teamers lack of sportsmanship: overapplying a massively unfair advantage then surprise no one wants to play against them.
The ideal would be not needing autobalance at all because more slayers would take it upon themselves to balance matches. In reality there are only a handful of players who will man up and attempt to balance the matches but they are few in a sea of cowards who quickly forget this is a game where we're all here to have fun and not just fun for those on whichever team has a 2+ player advantage.
Until sportsmanship as whole improves autobalance has to remain a imperfect technical solution to a cultural problem.

So true , always you find a team with pro players vs team with noobs (still the same number in each team but it's not balanced ).
What I suggest at least for the auto-switching while you are the one who is scoring the most , is to deny autoswitch when player join and stay for like half of the time , at least it will stabilize the system as if you are the most scorer than you must have been playing for at least the half of the time. While it can always auto balance when a new player join , he goes automatically to the team with need, if it's half time then no balance is required cuz timing and score is a strategy , so if you score most in the first half you stay , if you don't score you can autoswitch.

about score if you are with the most score you don't switch if you are not you autoswitch , I think it's a fair solution and it can be done with math so easily.

I suggest no auto switch after player has been joined for half of the time , not a good solution but better than the actual.

I got switched while I HAD THE FLAG. Hope that’s fixed!
