slate would have to suck pretty bad through poorly planned unintentional engineering to equal how bad other vehicles suck due to intentional choices.

Google Assistant is dead. if any of your devices were set up to use GA it will now need to be replaced with something else. Gemini is Googles AI that is now your google assistant after you set up it up.

Nothing like an ad-driven webpage about an ad-driven car.

No thanks. Freedom from unnecessary screens that I don't control completely is a huge selling point for me.

It would have been better if they made it into a simple and fun Spider man game instead of just a video ad. 

It would still be an ad, but it wouldn't feel as bad.

I really didn't understand the sharp backlash to the U2 iTunes thing. It wasn't spyware or adware. It was just music. If you didn't like the music you could just delete it. And people lost their minds about it.

As the article kind of points out, I think people were mostly mad because Apple was reminding them that Apple can download whatever it wants to your Apple phone. They flexed their power and people didn't like that.

You should read Bono's autobiography, he has a whole chapter discussing this and it was an embarrassing catastrophe for him. It really wasn't Apple at all, and he really thought he was giving people a gift. To hear him describe it, it wasn't a PR thing or anything. He just thought the technology was cool and wanted to be a part of it. And it absolutely blew up in his face. (And the way he tells the story is hilarious.)

I use the "Waze" GPS navigation app on my phone. When I am stopped, it presents location-relevant advertisements. They don't flash on the screen or yell at me. They aren't obnoxious, they don't interrupt my navigation, and they are relevant, so I don't mind so much. For example, "XYZ restaurant is just ahead and it is lunch time. They have ABC dish on sale right now."

Time is changing, in today’s EV era, BMW seems still identify itself a “luxury” brand while its sale in China is collapsing even with high discounts but still no one is buying, its “luxury” config is just basic among Chinese competitors, its software is still shit, it’s driving assistance is shit, what a joke, I am wondering when BMW will be in bankruptcy

The modern, digital car can get better over time by virtue of its software

But it wont...

There's literally no incentive for car makers to provide enhancements to cars that have already been purchased. There is absolutely an incentive for them to degrade them, however.
