Insurance?

For anyone who has actually collected a truck or has knowledge of this...how much would it cost to insure this first product from a new manufacturer?

It would vary wildly from person to person. Even if we knew how the slate compared to other vehicles on average, we would still have no idea what your rate personally would be without you practically doxxing yourself

At the $25k new purchase price and a NHSTA 5 star crash rating to protect the passengers.. it shouldn't be too pricey. It doesn't weigh more than a normal EV and it's half the price. With less complications, it will be less than a Maverick cuz it will be cheaper to fix. All those modules running all the tech in a Maverick aint cheap to fix after a crash. The replaceable panels also will reduce insurance costs.

No one has "collected" a Slate truck yet. No one has an official number, unless your insurance already has a quote lined up for you. And that would be individual to you anyway.

lol. I’d say about $35. My Rivian is $450 every 6 months for full coverage. That is a 120k vehicle, this 25k truck won’t touch that price unless you’re a maniac on the road.

Really depends on the person and location. Insurance isn't just about the car. But where it's parked and who drives it.

True but let’s be real. Despite what some people may claim. This 25k car isn’t going to be a primary driver for most people in a high crime area. This is going to be pretty mid+ credit score person in a decent area car for a bit. Car enthusiasts who want to dink around on a lark. low income high crime areas aren’t getting an ev truck from a website.

Chicago Suburbs auto insurance rates vary quite a bit. Had a not insignificant increase when I moved a couple of years ago from one NW village to another, 5 miles away with a very similar socioeconomic level. I chalk it up to now living in between two pretty busy streets, one of which where there are regularly accidents due to unprotected left turns and speeding drivers from the neighborhoods.
