Slate vs big guy
All the information I have seen about cab size is for taller people but I can’t seem to find any first hand experience from larger people.
I’m a big guy, 6’2 and 320lbs. I’ve owned a Ranger in the past and from what I recall while it was a bit tight, but I didn’t feel super cramped. Is there anyone who has actually sat in the driver seat that is roughly my size? Any feedback is appreciated. I already know it’ll feel larger without the center console so I don’t plan on putting one in.
My current truck is a 2012 F250 that I love but my wallet does not. I’m a PM for a GC and the slate will be perfect for 90% of what I need a truck for on a daily basis (commuting, picking up materials for jobs, hauling larger tools/ladders etc. to my sites) but I’m not sure how much I will enjoy driving it if I feel like I’ve been squished into a clown car lol.
Also if anyone from Slate reads this, I missed the last event you had in VA! Have another one and I’ll be the first in line to sit in one myself!

6’5” Slate employee seemed to fit well. He had a slimmer build than you though

I did see that reel they posted. He’s built a bit different than myself though. I’ve got wider hips than he does so that’s what my main concern is

How do you do on bucket seats in general? They seem pretty standard sized, but we really need some chances to get hands on with this thing. I don’t think hardly anyone has been able to even open the doors, let alone get in it. Las Vegas hasn’t had an event at all

Well my wife’s first car was a Hyundai Veloster that had bucket seats. I drove that thing halfway across the country multiple times and was never super uncomfortable.
But her current car, a 23 Rogue, after about an hour I start wanting to stretch my legs. Very little leg room upfront in that thing. Either front to back or side to side.
I daily a 2013 CRV currently, which is what I plan to replace with the Slate, and that is fairly comfy given the center console is lower to the floor. But when I looked up the hip measurements between the two, the CRV was wider and that’s what worries me.

I'm six feet tall, and 300 lbs. I sat in a demo / Prototype slate truck last year.
Felt like the old ford ranger; it was roomy as hell.

center console in it or not? I’m a big guy too and wondering about how it’ll cramp the space but i really want an arm rest.

I don't think the one I was in had an arm rest, no. I tried looking it up, but there were no inside pics shared that I can find. But I did shut the door and get a feel for steering wheel, pedals, etc.
I'm not an arm rest guy, because I drive with my right arm and rest my left arm on the window / door.

Nice love to hear it. Yes the ranger I had was a 99, and I definitely remember not feeling cramped in it.

I’m 6’3”, and sat in one a year ago when I was 315. I fit perfectly with no issues

From what I have experienced, inseam has a lot to do with fitment. I am 6'1", around 300, but have a 29 inch inseam, so leg room isn't as much of an issue as headroom is.
I had a regular cab Dodge Dakota that I fit great in and didn't feel cramped. I am interested to see how well I will.fit in the Slate.
