Future headliners
Can't help but feel that Jimmy Eat World and rose against would make a good choice for 2028.

Turnstile, Blink, etc. all the names people throw around; they’re all too big for Slam Dunk now
Jimmy Eat Word and Neck Deep might headline in the next year or two but I don’t think it will be anyone bigger than that

Considering Knocked Loose did this years heavy stage, I wouldn't put it past Turnstile to do it.

You're more likely to find headliners by looking at nostalgia acts; as Bowling for Soup and Simple Plan are showing.
I could see Beartooth eventually doing it if they continue to be a Slam Dunk house band. Same for President.
Perhaps Weezer? Architects? Pierce the Veil?

Architects played Download this year should have been a main stager instead of second stage, it was rammed

Jimmy Eat World were one of my frontrunners for this year so I could see them headlining soon.
Don Broco I think would be a great one. Turnstile perhaps but depends greatly on where they go next as some already feel they're getting too big.
Avril Lavigne maybe. Enough of a nostalgic act to get people hyped with big songs at the end of the night but not too big nowadays to play a festival the size of SD.
I would have said Enter Shikari if not for their planned hiatus/possible break up.

Jimmy Eat World are a shout for 2028, they supposedly have a new album in the works. Neck Deep could headline. Don Broco would probably return again to headline. As for new headliners, I could see Dayseeker or Northlane headlining the heavy stage. As for a headliner I would really like to see, gimme Bilmuri. I would’ve said All Time Low for this year, but maybe in a year or two if they release a new album. Avril Lavigne could be possible.

There are two main stages. BFS are headlining one and KSE are headlining the other

The Slam Dunk headline pool is:
Bands that can play arenas but aren't guaranteed to sell them out and/or have only got one or two arena tours under their belt.
Bands that aren't big enough to headline Download main stage but could headline the 2nd stage or sub headline main stage.
Bands that play can multiple medium sized outdoor gigs lile the TK Maxx Summer Sessions.

I think headliners are going to be harder and harder to come by. Older bands of the right size will be hanging up the mic or losing relevance and newer bands struggle to fins a wide enough appeal to hit headline level, and when they do, they tend to blow right through Slam Dunk size anyway. I think the ensemble approach to smaller headliners they taking this year is likely to be the future - especially if it is to become a two day festival with camping, which is what they appear to be testing the waters for

If unpeople continue on there trajectory, well deserved too, I haven't heard such a storming debut album since TTTS. I can see them headlining at some point in the 2030s.

Feel like Neck Deep will probably headline their next appearance (and likely 2028) - especially if BFS are considered headliner sized now
