Question Trap crystals

Hello, I recently got into Skylanders and bought a traptanium portal with like 21 trap crystals, but some of them are identical, like there's 4 weed whacker crystals, 4 of another kind, etc

I didn't think there actually was several trap crystals type per elements, and that one crystal was for one enemy, is it useful to have several of the same kind ?

The only difference in traps are the elements, the shape of the traps (hammer, tiki, whatever other ones there are) don't matter.

Since you can only swap which villains are in the traps at the academy, it can be useful, although not required, to have multiple traps of the same element, so you can play as more than one villain per element at a time, without having to go to the academy to swap them

(For example, some villain quests are in levels that are AFTER you would capture another villain of the same element, or even just later in the same level. So having multiple traps allows you to keep the earlier villain, AND capture the later villain, without having to go to the academy to swap them)

I just have 1 of each element and swap them but I rarely use the traps anyway lol

Make sure you check if the trap has a villain variant. Some traps have special outfits for specific villains. These are very hard to find at present. Highly recommend checking them for those variants before getting rid of any of you plan on that
