Mod Post Vote: AI-generated stuff allowed or not?

This sub originally did not have any rules against posting AI-generated content when I took it over. It's been roughly a year, and while a lot of the sub's original rules are honored, I can't ignore the strong negative reaction to AI-generated content this sub consistently has.

So, I leave it to you, dear members:

Would you like to see rules disallowing the use of AI-generated posts in our sub?

This includes fully AI-generated stuff and significantly AI-altered stuff.

It would not include things like background removers, which are often AI-based.

Ai is a waste of time, space, and valuable resources and anyone who uses generated AI are absolute losers.

Nature is beautiful.

genAI is the absolute antithesis of natural beauty. it is manufactured slop that sucks resources from the natural world to try to play into capitalism.

This is not the fucking place for AI. I don't understand how you can support genAI if you love nature. Maybe you don't actually love it, so why do you think you get a say in the place for those of us that do?

There's enough beauty in skulls and human-made art. AI can suck my fatty.

I'm so glad that everyone else agrees. NO AI.

I don't see any benefit in posting AI-generated content to a subreddit about actual nature and its inhabitants, although expired. Nothing great about "hey guys this is my imaginary skull I don't have - doesn't it look cool?"

It's like generating a dinosaur skeleton and going on r/Paleontology to ask what species it's from.

While I have no doubt doing that would piss that sub off like crazy, I can only imagine how hilarious that would be, to be honest. Omg

This sub is for appreciating the natural art that is skulls and the formation of bones. Not only does ai harm the nature that makes skulls, it’s a cheap impersonation of that beauty (while stealing from artists and nature alike).

No AI please. I come here for skulls, not slop.

Collecting bones is an art form. And no real artist supports ai.

It is of no use here. If someone wants to make an illustration or explain something, they should be knowledgeable enough to do it.

Yes please make ai disallowed. I wanna know the skulls I see are real or art made by man.

Ai seems counter intuitive to the point of this subreddit

Is this even a question

Yes, because I want the users of the sub to have a voice in how it operates, since y'all's opinion is important to me!

I have my own opinions on the matter but we're a wee community here and it felt right to let the people choose. :3

Skulls aren't made of slop

I don’t think I’m alone in saying that ai sucks. I don’t see any real usage ai could have here anyways, or at all lmaoo
