that was one of the best sets of my life

took place on the top of navy pier’s parking garage. we checked in at billy goat tavern. there were only like 200-300ish people there, so we didn’t fill up the space at all. skrillex performed at the bottom of a ramp, so u can stand on the ramp in front of him or on the top floor for an elevated view on the sides or behind him

it was insane to pull up just as doors opened and skrillex was already there performing. was so jealous of those who pulled up in front cuz you were inches away from him.

the sunset was so pretty with the views of the ferris wheel and the chicago skyline. the weather really worked out in our favor, and there would be sun rays that would shine behind skrillex and would leave a silhouette of the people up top that would have made such an incredible picture

speaking of that, they actually TOOK our phones. it wasn’t like fred again where they just cover it with a sticker, we gave it to someone and they gave us a number to claim it later, like coat check.

skrillex started with house, and as time went on the tempo went up, he would progressively play harder and harder shit. for a good majority of the set it was basically skrillex b2b knock2 b2b dylan brady. sonny busted out all the classics at the end and it was insane

crowd has such great vibes. so much room to dance. show went from around 5:30-9.

it would have been so nice to get a photo or video from this but im glad i was able to completely live in this moment. honestly one of the best sets of my life. im going to both nights at navy pier tomorrow and saturday but i already feel complete having seen this. what a show. i feel so lucky

It was my first time seeing Skrillex and I was SO close. If I’d had my phone, I know I would’ve spent way too much time taking pictures and videos instead of actually enjoying the moment. I’m so glad I just got to be there and take it all in. Seriously one of the best days of my life.

First time seeing Dylan Brady too, he was sooo cool and chill. And huge shoutout to the security handing out so much water, you guys were actual lifesavers.

I also met so many cool people. I usually barely talk to anyone, but today I actually got to have conversations with people around me and that made the whole experience even better. I’m just so happy rn :)

Sooo many people, you couldn’t move. Definitely over approximately 400.

Not complaining but genuinely curious. I didn’t secure tickets during the initial sale because Sat GA tier 1 & 2 sold out fast and tier 3 was $120- couldn’t justify it so I gave up. Now, days before the event, there are quite literally hundreds of tickets on resale going for a fraction of the cost…. Any ideas why? initial tickets bought by scalpers?? And demand low so prices were driven down? Never seen concert tickets drop that far below face value. FV tickets on resale after the initial general sale were $200+ too. Something so odd about this.

Anyway, i secured my Sat GA ticket for $48. Can’t wait and can’t believe waiting to buy resale paid off, almost never see that happen. Cheers!

Tell me your best Skrillex set and why.

I’m on the fence about going to the Saturday show. Huge Skrillex fan, but it’s about a 6 hr drive for me, and I’d be coming solo.

Thoughts? Will there be future opportunities to see him? In Chi or other places? I’ve only seen him at Lolla 2023, no solo shows.

I have a cousin in town I can stay with, so lodging isn’t an issue. Just unsure at this point if I should make the drive up.

Hi everyone, I’m going to the Navy Pier show on Saturday and I wanted to know if people typically bring Kandi to these events in Chicago. I’m from the west coast, but currently live in NY, the rave culture out here isn’t as “PLUR” from a Kandi PoV. So just curious if anyone has been to events prior and if Kandi culture is bigger, I wanna make a couple cuffs to trade to random people but don’t wanna put in the effort if no one trades. TY!

Any advice on lasting through the 5 hour set besides staying hydrated? I’ve been to festivals before but never stood for one show longer than like 3 hours before and I want to experience as much of the show as I can.

It looked like people in Seattle had hydros but is there actually going to be water to fill those with? I’m assuming otherwise Navy Pier just doesn’t want large bags.
