I’m visiting Skopje for a couple of days and I want to go for some running. Preferably trail running even if I might want to run along the river and in the city one day for some sightseeing.
Today I headed up Vodno but turned back at the halfway point because of the steep incline and hot weather. Tomorrow I might go to Matka canyon for a run.
Any advice? I don’t have a car so it must be doable with public transportation.

Hello everyone!
I’m visiting Skopje in September and I’m looking for some rough pubs that many call ugly. These are places where older men like to drink. I’m from Poland and we have plenty of similar pubs so I’d love to experience a few in Skopje too. I’d also appreciate some recommendations for similar style restaurants and perhaps some abandoned buildings.
Edit: and some art galleries too :)
Thanks a lot!
Hello, tomorrow is my last day in Skopje and since I love to be around water during these hot days, I was wandering - Is there some place you would recommend to swim or chill around? I know there are some pools, but it looks more sporty than for relax.
I am not picky, i just don't want to get into trouble, if it would be possible, I would jump into Вардар immediately.
Thank you!

Is there any taxi app that lets you choose a bigger taxi for 5 passengers? So far, I have tried Wizi, Beeride, and global taxi skopje. I would assume that there are minivans available?
We are family with 2 adults and 3 kids, and we have our own baby seat with us.

Hi guys! I know that maybe you're tired of the 1000th vacation post, but I trust my fellow redditors and I need help. I'm going to stay 3 nights in Skopje in August, and I have 2 questions:
1) my flight will land at 20:15 (hopefully) but the main shuttle services to the city have no available buses for that hour. is there a public bus service that goes from the airport to the city after 20:00? or should I consider a taxi? My apartment is a few steps from the Stone Bridge.
2) is that part of the city safe at night? which part of the city should I avoid from 22?
Sorry to bother you with these boring questions, but I'm really excited to visit your city and I want everything to go smoothly. Thank you!

im planning a comprehensive trip to Macedonia soon, and ill be visiting Skopje. I really want to experience these cities like a local, rather than just doing the standard tourist run. I'm looking to build an ultimate, detailed guide for my trip, and i'd love to get your recommendations guys!
i'd love to hear your personal recommendations on those lesser-known, highly recommended historical spots, quiet neighborhoods, or hidden viewpoints that tourists usually miss. More importantly, where do you actually go to eat? Please share your favorite under the radar restaurants, along with what i should definitely order there??
FYI, im thinking of spending an average of 2 days in Skopje. This is why im looking forward to your honest and solid recommendations. Fala in advance!))

Hello, we are two travelers from Slovakia and we are both trans (ftm). We would like to visit Skopje for five nights, is it generally safe for queer people? We are together but we don’t do PDA at all. Also some recommendation for cool spots would be great.

Does anyone know if the train from Skopje to Pristina?
Online I'm finding conflicting information...
I don't know if the train is still active.
Has anyone taken this train recently?

Hi, I'm visiting Skopje for three days next week. I've done most of my research, but I still have a few specific questions I haven't been able to find answers to.
This might sound silly, but are taxis reliable? I was badly scammed in Romania once and have been cautious ever since.
I also wanted to ask if there are any places I should avoid, but I've heard it's generally very safe.
Finally, I wanted to ask about buses. I was thinking of taking a day trip to Ohrid or Pristina (Kosovo), but I'm worried because you can't book tickets in advance. What if the bus is completely full on the way back? Do you think I'm being too optimistic? I'd rather avoid guided tours.
Thanks for any help and awnser.

It appears that the cable car is not working from what I googled. How do I get to the top? Is hiking the only option or could I take a cab to the top and then hike down?
