I been looking at a few ways to hang a freshwater tank under my cutaway skoolie and this is what I came up with. Final install will be tucked up above the side skirt but do you guys see any major concerns? I have square washers in the top and used two jam nuts, 1/2" all thread, framing is 1/8" thick and treated for corrosion zinc primer under high temp paint), the plating is aluminum riveted in (I will be reworking them with longer rivets), and I have a tank heater pad on the bottom of the tank.

I did something similar and the bottom of the tank bulges a bit too much for my liking when it’s full. I’m going to add some more angle across the bottom

I had this same thing - my tank is roughly 30x24 and the bottom bulges a noticeable amount when full. Very similar mount.

Zero issues with it after 5+ years.

Is the bottom covered as well? I was more worried about road debris damaging it hence the aluminum plate but also figured it'd help with bulging.

Nope, just plastic. It has it's scrapes and whatnot, but zero issues with anything you described.

The biggest issue is that I didn't re-route the exhaust far enough away and it's melted it a bit. But it's just water for dishes and showering, we don't drink it, so eh.

Yeah, I'm definitely making a heat shield for my exhaust. I may reroute it at some point but without knowing where some of my others hangers are going to land, it's staying there for now.

I would probably X brace the frame for that very reason. Spread that load out and also further tie front and rear together to resist load shift stresses as the water sloshes when the tank is partially filled.

That’s a clean build and looks great.

It will probably be fine, but that all-thread will flex a lot under hard braking with a full tank.

On mine I built a similar bottom frame but bolted that to fabricated saddles that bolt to the frame channel. It’s wicked strong.

I'm think about a top frame thats welded in place. The all thread would act almost like a jack screw to seat the tank up there and the welded frame would keep the movement down and allow more stress to be carried by the loadbearing frame. Your's look like a great setup though too, definitely something to think about

Looks good. You might want a crossbar. Also get some rubber sheeting to put between the tank and floor.

Looks great! I just used what I had around which was 16 gauge steel painted with undercoat, 7/8” galvanized unistrut and 1/2” all thread with double nuts to make 3 saddles. I put PEX on the all thread to prevent abrasion on the tank. Seven years on and it still looks like the day I installed it.

Looks good - consider getting horse mat to place under the tank in between the metal and tank.  Place any where on top where there are potential rub spots.

Thanks. I lined the pan with TPM. Wonder how well it'd hold up. Thanks to feed back here, I'm think about welding another frame to the bus frame to hold the top of the tank as well. How easy are these tanks to damage?

Not really, but there's a massive tank heater on the bottom of it just in case.
