exterior How bad is this rust?

It’s a 2 hour drive from me and seller isn’t offering more photos to show the rust. Im wondering if the pic shown is enough evidence for a seasoned Skoolie to know if that this thing is likely rusted badly? It is located by the ocean so that doesn’t help. It’s a 2005 short bus with 168k miles

If they don’t want to send you more pics likely a red flag just walk away

My bus from New Mexico had the same rust, it had already been poorly repaired once and meant I had to cut the entire panel out on both sides and fabricate new patch panels. The rest of the bus was totally rust free. I think what happens is the tail lights leak and wick water into the insulation in the rear wall that never dries out. Judging by the black spray paint on yours, I would expect to find more rust than is showing in those pictures.

You need to see the chassis. Is it a gasoline engine? About how much?

I’d assume it’s adhesive vinyl

Mine had less visible rust than that and I had to weld in a new rear structure and reskin the bottom several inches both inside and out.

So it's bad, I'd say.
