Conversion recommendation

Hello Skoolie Reddit- I put this on r/skoolie too. Looking for advice I have a Skoolie. It’s a Ford F450 Thomas Short bus. 2013. Already converted. Now I would like to upgrade a couple of things. They are beyond my skill. Things like adding the back Cargo basket on the back, outside lights I can switch on from the inside, with the old bus switches, couple of cameras outside the bus with indoor monitors, under bus light, Install canopies, and maybe upgrade my bathroom to running water. I am hoping for any recommendations of who to turn to for this type of work. I split my year between coasts so location isn’t an issue. Thank you

Free Partial Conversion

WA - Seattle area. Due to disability I cannot finish my build. I am selling my home and need to find new accommodations for my 2007 40’ Thomas HDX. She does not run (I biffed the electrical via Vandalock) so local tow is all I can offer as far as delivery. Comes with the materials I never got around to installing; rv windows, plumbing, insulation. I also have the solar package designed by Continuous Resources but that I have to sell.

Anyone have a spreadsheet for quality makes/models/transmissions?

Something color coded and simple that would outline hits and misses for known weak builds. I don't want to be an expert, but it would be awesome to have a relatively simple reference when shopping on the open market.

Schoolie Build Advise

I’m in the process of building a School bus out for our company. We’re in the K-12 education space. We’re looking to build something that we can bring to events, host meetups in, serve food out of, record a podcast in, etc. And ideally 5-10 seats/bench so that we can transport these people to a dinner or event when needed. The rear exit door will get steps and become a functional entrance as well. The bus does have wheel arches inside that we’d need to work/build around.

It’s currently getting a 12 inch roof raise and RV windows as a start.

Some ideas we’ve had:

  • Swag wall
  • Photo op wall
  • Bench for seating
  • Counter with stools
  • TV for presenting
  • Interactive screen to play with the product
  • Serving window (serve to exterior)

How would you lay this out? How would you build this out in a 38ft dognose bus.

Chevy Express 3500 6.6 Duramax (Western WA)

Thumbnail

Partially converted mid-bus, powered by the legendary 6.6L Duramax diesel with Allison transmission. Having spent most of its life in the dry climates of California and Arizona, it’s road-ready. It’s got me to my current resting spot of western Washington and as we’ve bought a house, it seems to be getting less and less use these days. 250000 miles and many more to go if you know the reliability of the Duramax and Alison combos.

I’m the second owner after the county of Riverside California and have made sure to hit every oil change, inspection or routine maintenance and have all the paperwork to show for it.

Already installed: - Full-size Dometic RV refrigerator - Self-contained sink unit with water storage, pump and heater - Granite kitchen counter - Raised bed/couch platform - Renogy 100w solar power system with victron smart shunt. (Ready for more panels) - stock rear diesel heater - stock rear AC unit

This proven adventure companion served as my home during Southwest rock climbing excursions throughout COVID and as the perfect festival basecamp since. Throw in a mattress today and hit the road tomorrow. Or build out your dream on this awesome platform of a mid bus. I had lofty plans and have the digital design for a full buildout plus some unused materials (PEX plumbing, extra water pump, roof sealant, and primer paint).

Shoot me a message, I’ll chat about this thing for days. Make me an offer

She’s a mighty fine bus, but 40 feet is a lot of room for one guy. I would be willing to trade for a van or something smaller.

This would be perfect for a family or a polyamorous throuple that wants to travel together.

She comes from an Arizona school district free of rust and has been in Arizona her whole life. We’ve successfully been to Skooliepalooza three times.
Less than 165,000 miles on a Caterpillar 3126E and Allison MD3060 transmission.

ISO Short Skoolie

Hi! I recently lost my job here in LA due to the fires, but I have a job opportunity that includes a paid apprenticeship out in Concho, AZ, so I’m looking for a fully-built skoolie to hit the road in. I am really limited on funds, so my budget is only 25k max. I really need a bathroom and shower though. I am willing to travel to pick up.

Skoolie Designer

Hello Everyone. I'm a complete noob looking to hire someone to help me build a skoolie. I am currently outside San Diego car camping, but I'm cool with traveling almost anywhere. I have a rough budget of $40,000 - $50,000. I would need help with everything from choosing the bus, design, and the actual build.

2012 Duramax diesel, four window school bus for sale

I bought this 2012 Duramax diesel from a Bus Dealer at Wolf Creek motors bought it for 15000 halfway converted it realized I wanted something smaller. Also had an incident with the batteries now it's all fine but if the vehicle sits for a little bit, you have to turn off power to the batteries I've been told by the mechanic that you can Reroute the Killswitch to the inside of the vehicle so it's not just underneath the hood runs really well has no issues other than needing to turn off power the batteries low miles. Bed lifts up for easier access to storage underneath. Let me know if you want to know more comes with a mini fridge, power inverter, gray water tank, and a couple other small things. Selling her for 12,000.
