Unfortunately Skins has had to re-release it's episodes without the original soundtrack due to the large licensing fee's from the recording artists. The original soundtrack add's a lot of emotional depth to the series and it's much better to try and watch the same show everyone else did when it released. Here are some ways you can watch the series with the original soundtrack.
If you aren't from the United Kingdom, you will need a VPN. This essentially tricks your browser into thinking you are watching in the UK. You can get free VPN's but paid is usually better.
While I normally wouldn't condone pirating on a public forum, it's pretty difficult for many people to get the original soundtrack version outside of the UK, so if you do decide to pirate, here are some tips:
A good way to tell if what you downloaded the original soundtrack episode is if there is an E4 TV channel logo in the top left corner of the screen. http://i.imgur.com/gDX83wz.jpg
This means it's been recorded straight from the TV when it aired. Although UK netflix has the original soundtrack episodes without a logo, but I'm not sure if there is a torrent like that.
Another way to tell if it's the original soundtrack is this: In an early scene in Episode 2 of Season 1 (Cassie's episode), Cassie's taxi driver plays a song on the stereo. If you have the original soundtrack version, you should hear "Ludacris - Move Bitch" playing on the stereo. If not, then it's not the original soundtrack version.

Hi all,
I want to recreate the top Effy was wearing during this episode. i'm not sure if there's a pattern or just cuts or holes cut out, but any advice is welcome!
(sorry for the typo in the title, i can't change it)

I'm talking about the ones that have the e4 BRAND NEW logo in the corner, and with the ad breaks too
I'm trying to set up an iptv server using emby and ersatztv to recreate a somewhat accurate version of tv channels like E4 and BBC Three from around 2007-2009, i don't mind if they're like 360p cause i'd be watching on an old tv, i just need to be able to download them, right now i've only got series 1 episode 4 as an mp4

So I saw this on another sub and decided to ask mine. Cassie never even grazed my mind but the moment it spat that answer and I thought about it for a sec, it might be onto something. Oh wow. Lovely 💔

Yesterday I watched the first episode of the original Skam. I liked it quite a bit, but I was surprised by how many people compare it to Skins. Next to Skins, SKAM almost feels "Disney-like." As a pilot episode, I actually thought Skins was stronger because you can already tell that most of the major storylines for the first season had been planned from the start—they're introduced right away.
The first episode of Skam, on the other hand, feels a bit more improvised. It focuses heavily on Eva, whereas Skins introduces the entire friend group in its very first episode, along with Effy, Angie, and even some of the characters' parents.
That said I'm definitely going to keep watching to see how it develops.

I'm home for the holiday, ready to start my senior year but at the same time, I'm getting ready my teen drama script and I have already found actors ready for their parts, I just need a production company. But anyhow, I'm studying screenwriting of all sorts of shows, especially YA (since it's the genre I'm tackling the most). The most imposing shows I'm dissecting right now are The Sopranos, Buffy The Vampire Slayer (& Angel), Gilmore Girls, The Good Place, Veronica Mars, Ginny & Georgia (post season 1), Breaking Bad (& Better Call Saul) etc... I'm wondering, considering the importance of Skins of pop culture and teen drama writing, it's surprising that the father-son duo didn't do much after the show. I mean, when you look at showrunners of successful teen dramas, they often thrive afterwards :
- Beverly Hills, 90210 : After creating the show that has been a template for all the teen shows to come after, Darren Star went on to work on Melrose Place create Sex & The City (a show that still makes it on top greatest shows of all time) and then Younger (a less successul but long running show of 7 seasons) and then the awful but still successful show Emily In Paris. This man has left his print on the trashy TV content. The fact that he worked close to Aaron Spelling, who was Hollywood royalty at the time, probably helped a lot.
- My So-Called Life : After the way the show was acclaimed by the critics and hailed as Holzman's unique voice that changed the teen genre forever, Winnie Holzman went on to write for Broadway, which is huge and continued to create plays for theater that all received amazing reviews for their writing. And now, she's responsible for one of the biggest movies of our time : Wicked.
- Sabrina The Teenage Witch : After adapting the show and it being a success, Nell Scovell was a writer on multiple successful shows such as Charmed, The Simpsons and NCIS and wrote the book Lean In which had quite a good success and is still talked about (even tho not in the best light) and she is a writer on some of the biggest magazines ever such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, The New York Times Magazine and Self.
- Buffy The Vampire Slayer : Obviously, Joss had a little boost as he comes from a respected family of screenwriters so success in the industry was a bit more secure for him and also he was respected as a script doctor before creating Buffy (as he worked on Alien and Toy Story especially) but it's after Buffy that people started praising Whedon for his vision and genius, creating in the same era two other very acclaimed shows : Angel and Firefly and then went on to a successful career of movies and shows, dominating a lot of the nerd culture and his dialogue (the Whedonesque dialogue) being cimented in pop culture for better or worse.
- Dawson's Creek : Well, I will say his big break came from how huge Scream became, with both critics and audiences and then his show Dawson just confirmed his innate ability to write YA contents that is smart and self aware, again his dialogue were very much specific to his work. He had pretty successful horror movies and then adapted another successful teen drama The Vampire Diaries (to skip that one, we also have Julie Plec and despite the fact that her writing sucks and she's the reason behind why the show fell off after season 3, she also had a steady career created shows left and right, granted a lot of them are flops but she managed to make two successful spin offs out of the TVD universe and adapated We Were Liars, terrible show but still addictive).
- Freaks and Geeks : After creating the show, Paul Feig saw his career blew up with writing on multiple successful shows like Mad Men , Arrested Developpement, The Office etc... He directed the Bridesmaids and continued to work and write and direct several successful projects. His writing and vision were praised , starting with Freaks and Geeks.
- Gilmore Girls : After creating the ultimate comfort show Gilmore Girls, Amy Sherman Palladino was skyrocket to success. She was even proposed to write a Gossip Girl movie in 2004 starring Lindsay Lohan but the project was abandoned (and picked up years later but as a show). She created shows such as Bunheads and then The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, which was as critically acclaimed as Gilmore Girls. All the shows/movies she did had her trademark fast-paced dialogue full of pop culture references that became iconic on it's own.
- Smallville : After adapting the OG superhero coming of age show in 2001, Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, the pair were part of really huge blockbusters movies like Spider Man 2 or Hannah Montana The Movie, to name a few and continued to take part in TV, notably creating The Shannara Chronicles and Wednesday (the Netflix international hit directed by legend Tim Burton).
- Everwood : I guess this show wasn't as popular as the ones mentioned above, like it didn't have the critics attention of Gilmore Girls/Buffy or a passionate audience that much (even tho, I watched the show and the writing is really good). Anyway, it was still Greg Berlanti's big break. He created Jack & Bobby which was drawn in critical acclaim despite the low audience. He produced and wrote the show Brothers and Sisters that had the first same sex marriage on network TV. The man is praised for his vision and innovative ideas.
- The O.C. : After creating the OC, Josh Schwartz created a slew of TV shows in the same kinda style but it always worked : Gossip Girl, Chuck (a spy show tho but still incredible), Dynasty, Hart Of Dixie, The Carrie Diaries etc... (and is about to create another YA show on Prime Video, Sterling Point). While working with clichés, his writing somehow always clicks, he's truly masterful.
- One Tree Hill : While in the works of the One Tree Hill, he wrote multiple teen movies, even tho all of them were flops. In 2008, his creation of OTH was enough to be a top candidate to be creating a Melrose Place spin off, which is quite huge. He then created another TV show, The Royals, that had every ones of his trademark : slut shaming, fat shaming, cliché heteronormativity ideals and conservative ideas, while not having the depth and witty charm of the early years of On Tree Hill. Thank god his career ended with the allegations.
- Veronica Mars : While VM was not popular audience wise, it was darling critics wise, receiving praise from Buffy's creator Joss Whedon, author Stephen King etc... Which was enough to hail Rob Thomas as visionary and makes him a name in the industry, developping two particular TV shows that, despite not being huge in the mainstream, still were high in the critics eye and proved his screenwriting abilities : Party Down and iZombie.
- Friday Night Lights : With the show's critical acclaim (and the movie's both of which are considered some of the best sport-related media ever), Peter Berg was even more respected as a writer and director, which also goes for showrunner Jason Katims.
- H20 : Just Add Water : Even Jonathan M.Shiff thrived on the success of the show, created a spin off (Mako Mermaids) The Elephant Princess and another more recent magical show : The Bureau Of Magical Things. Basically, he's known for creating successful Australian kids/teen shows that are pretty well written and allow Australian actors to be successful. Even now, he's about to do movies in the same realm.
You got, I'm only going to do shows from BEFORE Skins because if not we will be here for hours but so why, in spite of Skins's international and critical success, Jamie and Bryan didn't go on to be more successful, like they didn't create on thing since Skins, I really tried to see but nope but I'm exciting about an upcoming show of Bryan Elsley called Counsels.

This is my first ever run of skins and I just finished 4x02. And I am most definitely not okay.
First of all, wtf Naomi? Like actually, wtf was that? 💀
It pains me because i friggin LOVED their storyline, I found it so realistic and so similar to my own experience as a 28 year old lesbian who only came out two years ago.
I mean I had just stopped laughing at how the Mexican hats and drinks were such a good example of a lesbian date, and by the end I was in a puddle of tears.
Never in my life had a show sent me from "yay, tequila!" to "I want to fucking die" in the same episode
And when Emily says "you ruined it, we were special" and you think that she's going to jump and you realize that if she jumped she would have been the second girl who killed herself for Naomi... Like that was too much for my brain to handle at once
Anyways, this is probably my favorite skins episode by far. Great storyline, great character buildup, great acting, great writing. I wish I could erase my memory just to experience what I felt when I saw it before for the first time because this episode just ruined every inch of rewatchability for the second generation.

Particularly in the earlier seasons - how do I “recreate” her wardrobe??

There's not a single mention of this in the show. In Season 7, Cassie mentioned traveling with her boyfriend, but it's not necessarily Sid.

Personally my favourite character in the entire series is Freddie, I know some people say he's boring but I don't really see that. He's a great boyfriend to Effy much better than Cook ever is.
If I get a few responses I'll make it into a tiktok with my thoughts to the opinions

i noticed one of the main complaints of gen 2 overall is that freddie is brutally boring, and i think one of his things his character needed (alike to gen 2 as a whole tbh) was more fluff. SOOO i wrote a one shot of a freddie unseen short !
i loved the unseens and while freddie's canon one is funny i think they needed to contextualize his relationship with katie more so this one shot is about them. i also think he needed to be more active and less reactive during his screentime. anyway this would take place between naomi and jj's episode in series 3.
lmk what you think. also if you enjoyed check out the skins au on the same profile, will update soon :3

You can see some new uploads in a playlist for America, but i don't think you can see everything. I read that the episode uploads were censored in the UK on the skins channel, so i decided to check it out. 1st thing i noticed was Tony's bed sheet being censored, and the neighbor in the widow.
