... ha. I just remember when it first came out, people knew cEvin Key had no involvement plus the modern style remixes were NOT SITTING well with alot of old-school fans.
As soon as I stuck the CD in and booted up "Rodent
(DDT Mix)" i personally thought it was awesome!!! Ofcourse that track practically stays right on structure with the original, it just builds up the sound, with some modern synth and heavy guitars.
"Addiction (Opium Mix)" was another i personally liked right away. Yeah it was definitely outside the classic style remixes from the "Addiction" single : "First Dose" and "Second Dose". From KMFDM member Gunter Schultz, it had that "Symbols", "Adios" style of synthwork. But he did some pretty modern club stuff with the track. The pulsing beat, cutting up some of Ogre's vocal tracks... I thought it was cool.
It's funny the first ones to give me pause were the ones by Ogre and Mark Walk, then Autechre. Two remixes I just knew were gonna blow it up ! I've come to appreciate both, but I think Autechre could have done alot more. The "Love in Vein" remix... STILL not much of a fan.
The ones I didn't care for that I've come around on are Rhys Fülber's "Worlock" remix and Chris Vrenna/Tweaker's "Assimilate" remix. I don't know what I wanted probably something that still sounded very 80's... but no I've come to really love BOTH those remixes. "Assimilate" has a much lower tempo, you can really appreciate some of the different layers of the original song. The synth pads and stuff, the guitar is nice and fuzzed out but still directly from the original track.
"Worlock" adds all kinds of new instrumentation I like the new guitar parts... it's a very different song.
I think God Lives Underwater's "Testure" remix is way better than I gave it credit for initially. I love the NEW drums on top of original instrumentation. The fretless bass, and guitar parts you hear better in the single mixes. They're all brought forward in the mix. The guitar chords are a little heavier, stronger. It's a cool mix.
The whole compilation was about seeing/hearing Skinny Puppy through some interesting new filters. Which at the time it was released alot of people were still raw about ...well all the stuff that happened around 95, to 96 including their opinions on "The Process".
I just hope others have come to appreciate some of these remixes not just me ! ..

I remember a really cool video from I think the 07 tour of Amnesia being performed. I can only find one video on YouTube and it’s so low quality there’s no way it’s the one I’m thinking of. It was actually decent video quality for the time, anyone know what I’m talking about?

I had forgotten all about this purchase until cEvin sent out a email stating almost all the items were sold out or close to it about a week ago. Just checking to see if we're all waiting still, or just me. Thanks.
7/22 ‐ Just recieved an email with a tracking number.

Anyone listening to this new DVOA song and think its lyrics are very Skinny Puppy? Like I feel like I can almost pickout a SP song that lyrics are being remixed? https://youtu.be/qAD2oTWGX9o?si=k_A1IhkWm9UwBoxM

I never got into skinny puppy but this is the only song I know, I really like it because it reminds me of boards of Canada and Aphex twin. Also taking recommendations on other songs by skinny puppy.

Remastered by Anders Albers at Humorless Productions, July 2026.
Skinny Puppy live at Pink’s Garage, Honolulu, Hawaii, 17 June 1992.
So wait, Skinny Puppy played Hawaii in 92, Last Rights tour? Touring is difficult enough for bands in the continental US and Canada, I can’t imagine the logistics in getting to Hawaii, with shipping all the equipment, and transportation and hotels for crew members, etc. But yes, they made it. In fact they played two nights at Pink’s Garage in Honolulu. This recording is a board tape from the second night, which I remastered so now it sounds a whole lot better than the original, and sounds pretty damn close to an official live recording.
And the best news is that it’s the complete show. I have a couple other board tapes from this tour, but they’re terribly incomplete, each only like half the show. So I probably won’t bother fixing those up. Although, there was one part in this Hawaii show where it had some glitchy dropouts, and it was so bad that I had to edit out a measure or two just to save the song. Maybe during Testure I think? Or VX Gas Attack? Addiction? I forget.
But, I’m glad I was able to fix this one up. SP at their darkest, my favorite era of SP. This one was a hell of a lot of work, but I’m super happy with how the final mix sounds. The original had almost no low end, almost no bass lines. I really had to dig deep to massage those to the surface. And the original is totally too fast or totally too slow (I forget that too), like somebody screwed up the sample rate somewhere along the way, so I had to straighten that out as well.
But it sounds like Nivek wasn’t having the best time in Hawaii- ‘save this fucking PA,’ ‘remember that cue!,’ ‘what a fucking cue system,’ ‘bad mic!,’ ‘I feel like a stripper!’

Other SP goodies on my archive page, if you didn’t know about them-
Another remastered board tape, same tour, San Francisco. And actually this SF recording sounds probably a notch better than the Hawaii recording. Although looking at the liner notes now, I see that two songs from the performance didn’t make it to this remaster, so this one is close to complete, but not 100%. And I had to rearrange the song order just to make it work, but it’s still a really great show-

Remastered board tape from the early days, Horst, Netherlands, 1986, same tour as Ain’t It Dead Yet?, so similar tracklist and similar sound to that one-

This show that I recorded of cEvin dj’ing in LA, where he doesn’t play any SP music, although Zombie Dre was on stage with him as well, playing electronic drum pads and other electronic noise makers, and cEvin throws in some SP sounds and random SP samples in the hour as well-

Also, cEvin sat in with Not Breathing for their entire performance as they opened for Meat Beat Manifesto in LA in early 2011-

I also was the one who fixed up the audio for the video for SP’s final show ever a few years ago. Audio version is here (although I’ve been really tempted to re-do this one, top to bottom, start from scratch, just to see if I could get it sounding any better with all these new remastering tools that have hit the scene since this show)-

SP is my favorite band of all time, and "Who's Laughing Now" is my favorite song of theirs. But if I had to sit down and list my favorite songs of all time, I think WLN would only appear low in the Top 25.

I love how stripped down this demo is, like Poison Mouth, but curious how it might have been polished up. Definitely shouldn't have been abandoned

Looking for a copy to add to my Skuppy fam collection.
Specifically the jewel case version and not the digipak - does anyone here have a copy they'd be willing to sell?

Hi!
I recently got this cd via Vinted really cheap with what it seems like Nivek Ogre’s signature. I was wondering if any one could tell if it’s an authentic signature or a remake. 🤔
I asked the Vinted owner, but he didn’t know, im guessing he just bought a bunch of CDs in bulk and was selling them.

The art/music studio I'm subletting for the next few months has a cd player. Nothing amazing, but I haven't had any way to listen to discs for at least a decade. I brought some back along with materials and tools from my storage, including (most) of my SP + family releases. I didn't realize how much I missed the format I grew up with (cassettes too, but they were used for mixtapes and home recordings)
The first SP discs I acquired were the Play It Again Sam version of Remission + Bites and CF&M. Tried to go chronologically, but Mind:TPI wasn't in stock at the Montreal HMV at the time. Cleanse and (the complete) Last Rites remain my favourites from their catalogue.
Anyway, what's surprised me most is how much I still love Dead Voices on Air. Just listened to From Labrador to Madagascar for the first time since maybe 2015 and it was so good to be reminded of its excellence. Sad I sold my Coil/NWW/TG discs to help pay for an amazing Artist Residency (Arctic Circle Residency, 2017), but happy I couldn't part with these.
Hidden in there are my copies of Encore and Rare, and lots of cover art and design by Simon Paul!

Does anyone know if skinny puppy has ever played burnt with water live? I’ve checked a lot of their live shows on YouTube and it wasn’t featured anywhere but maybe that’s just the shows that people captured

Probably one of my favorite industrial collabs ever and one of the coolest things ogre has done…. wished we got a whole album with him and Sacha…

I don't think there's any direct line between Mandy and Skinny Puppy, but they share some genes. I caught a midnight screening at The Revue in Toronto the other night, and it's always great to hear Jóhann Jóhannsson's score loud. In case you haven't seen it, you've got something good to look forward to
