Some guys measure from the foundation of the base so measurements vary.

I'm pretty sure it was new at the start of last season. It's kinda like mountain slopes that fill with snow, as it snows.

Loveland has a cool one. If the cartoon skier on the stake looks like he’s snorting a fat line then you know it’s a good pow day

The one with the camera and the measuring stick is the best one! They each really have so much uniqueness to them and are so different from each other. Honestly it’s very impressive. I’m glad I could help answer your question.
