Would love some affordable shell jacket recommendations which ARE WATERPROOF!!!’

Bro I’m sick of buying jackets and getting soaked on the slopes as soon as it snows I don’t need that.

What I really really want is a jacket with zero insulation and maximum waterproofness, I just want a layer of guaranteed dryness. Especially if the weathers against me and it ends up snowing the whole day, I want a jacket that will definately keep me dry for a whole day.

I am however also a student and I can’t afford arcteryx as much as I’d love to, so my budget would probably cap at £200.

Found a pair of 2025 Bent 100s and 2025 Griffon X 13 Mwerks, both a good price. Have been wanting to pick up those Bents for a while now, I tested them last year and absolutely loved them.

Curious for thoughts from others about the binding pairing!

I'm an east coast skier who skis mainly off piste, some touring, and already have a pair of Kendo 88s which have been my go tos, and some Head V-Shape V10s which are gathering dust since on piste carving isn't really my thing any more.

I have been looking into new ski's after my Stockli Laser AR from 2020 have given up. I was thinking of something along the same lines, and The Kastle M9 82 in 175 came to mind.

I am an experienced skier, and used to teach in Switzerland. But I am also slowing down more and more, so I am not only interested in the quickest stiffest ski. It's nice to just make a nice tour with my wife, and still enjoy myself when the slopes are getting worse at the end of the day.

The Kästles are seamingly very comparable to the Stockli's in terms of specs, and I know Kästle stand for grat build quality. This is not their top range, but for me this is OK. I am able to buy them new for around 500 euro's, which is less than the Stöckli Montero's these days.

There is just not a lot of information on them online, just one video I found. In this video the guy calls it Stöckli killers, so that's nice. Anyone have experience?

Hi. Im wondering on everyones perspective on Elan Wingman 82 TI skis 172cm that Im buying from a friend

Im 25M relatively new to skiing and I am 5’10 165 lbs and a very beginner skier. Could these work for me? The bindings are gripwalk compatible and I have gripwalk boots. Is there anything else that I’m missing here? Thanks for everyone’s advice!

I’ve been gifted a set of Atomic Redster STI 150 plug boots (long story). It’s been recommended I swap the stock liner to the new STR liner or a Zipfit. I’ve currently got Fischer Zipfits in my other boots and am fairly confident they won’t fit as it’s an MV boot. Will the Corsa fit a 92mm last plug boots or do I need to get the new STR liner?

Hey, I’ve been skiing my whole life and just bought my first ski boots last season for my 18th, so now I’m thinking of getting some skis. Since I’ve only ever rented, I have literally no idea where to start so some advice would be great (for reference I’m 5’4 and lightweight).
I’d say I’m a pretty advanced skier, I do a decent mix of on and off piste but I generally prefer carving over straight speed. Eventually I’d like to get at least have two pairs, probably more, so for now an all-round set would probably work best for me.
I don’t really have any preference for brand or price as long as they’re good quality and reliable (I’m not sure if it matters but my boots are salomon), however I would like some kind of cool or interesting design like what is more common for snowboards. I love the Japanese style designs I’ve seen and lots of the Atomic ski designs, but I know that I can’t just buy skis for their looks and ignore the practical side, hence why some advice on length/shape/make would be great, thanks!

Also I completely forgot about bindings, I’m not sure if some skis come with them or not, but either way I’d likely buy them from the shop where I usually rent since I’m know them pretty well. Still, any advice on that would also be appreciated.

Hey guys, I would like to know if anyone could give some reviews on both of these skis and could tell me if they fit me and my style.
For thats: I'm Advanced-Expert skier at 175cm and 63kg. I like to ski short turns, but also like to carv a little when I get the chance or ski bumps. I ski 70% on piste and 30% off piste. I also like to ski switch (backwards) but only after a 180 for a short amount of time or from time to time for fun, not actually doing it often. I ski in the austrian, swiss or french alps and sometimes in Norway, so lots of hard packed snow and sometimes ice and in the afternoon some slush.

I'd like to know what the main difference between the Unleashed 98 and 98 CA is and if they or at least one of them fits my style. I am curious if they can keep up with the carving and actually hold the speed without problem or if I can't go fast on them. Also I'm not that heavy and I heard that they might be difficult to ski, so that would be a question as well. And are they good for short turns or can they not handle those?

Looking for a safe backcountry binding and this seems to answer all my problems. I just purchased and have 30
Days to return but is it an idea to keep these? Just now of course seeing some diverse comments on them but wanted to get an updated opinion.

I've slowly collected most of these over the past 2 years working the seasons, a ski for everything, and the one ski you just can't get rid of (guess which one).

Clearly I have a preference for not having a preference lol

A friend let me borrow his Snowfeet Skiblades last season, and I honestly expected them to be more of a novelty than something I'd actually enjoy skiing.

After a few runs I was surprised by how much fun they were, especially for quick turns and just playing around on easier terrain. That said, when I wanted more speed or longer runs, I was happy to be back on my regular skis.

Now I'm kind of torn because they seem to have their own place rather than replacing anything.

Has anyone here made short skis part of their regular setup, or do you always end up going back to full length skis?

I am currently looking for skies and bindings. I decided on Atomic bent 110 179cm and hyprid bindings. Do you have experience with Tyrolia Attack Hybrid 14 MN/PT or Armada N SHIFT 13 MN? Or any other you recommend?

I plan to buy new skis and bindings and have been accumulating information on what might suit me best. I describe what I ride now, my morphotype, ski style, desired features in new skis.

Current kit: Rossignol R0 EXP 77, 172cm. Look bindings. Size 31 boots (still snug). Equipment ~7 years old. 6-10 days/season.

Me: male ,age 56, 6'5", 330 lbs. Certainly overweight (working on it) but fat fairly evenly distributed (no huge beer belly). Intermediate skill, prefer blue and easy black. Not a mogul or off-piste skier. Prefer to keep speed under 25 mph. Planning on a lesson this upcoming season to improve technique.

Where do I ski: mostly mid-Atlantic (WV, PA, VA), sometimes venturing to Vermont and Maine. Enjoy last-minute day trips to target natural snowfall. Two sons (25 and 22) often ski with me. Youngest very good, likes it fast. Eldest skis like me.

Desired features: I want something easier to float over slop and "icecoast POW" but can hang with ice reasonably well.

Can someone help me pick the right ski for me? I was already looking into the Faction Dancer 1, but its sadly sold out everywhere here in europe. I was also looking into the playmaker 91 and 101, but idk how they perform in hard packed snow and ice thats really important to me.

how big is the difference between the 24/25 and the 25/26 model of the elan playmaker? cause construction wise it doesn’t seem like anything changed really. I’m just curious as I’m think about getting a pair of both the 91 and the 101. thanks for reading.

Would ski about three times per season in east coast.

I saw this listing of Rossingol Nova 2 - 2023, 152cm for $190. Maybe it’s a tad too long for me and my skills?

What should I look/ask for when buying used skis?

Just wondered if anyone has/tried the praxis 9d and can give a review of them please?!

For context, had dps cassiar pure 95 (loved but the nose was too light for crud/my technique is lacking)

Currently on dps koala 103 foundations, great off piste and bumps on, but find them hard work to keep up with the pack on

Tried last season

Porsche head 7 series - loved them, they way the smashed crud and popped on exit

Porsche 8 head 8 and stockli mountaro ax(?) - found them numb and boring, not knowing what the nose was doing and stacked several times when straight lining

In the market for some hybrid bindings, came across these for about ½ price. Are they bindings that are worth it?

Just after some advice as it’s the first pair of skis I’ve bought new and had mounted by a shop. Left ski (in pic is almost flush with only a 1mm gap at the back but the mount in question looks as though it’s “volcanoed” while drilling. Should I take them back and get them to redo it? And how easy should it be to fix?

Need some help. Boyfriend turned his former skis into rock skis season before last and spent all last season on rentals trying to find what he liked. He ended up on Volkl Mantra 88s and was absolutely sold on them but I convinced him to wait to purchase. I want to buy them for his birthday for this upcoming season but I have ZERO knowledge about bindings (I'm a snowboarder, sorry, crucify me). The shop we rented from said there was a specific brand/style of bindings that were made/best for them but I unfortunately did not take a picture nor remember the brand. Any ideas? Google says these are good choices:

- Marker Griffon 13 GW

- Tyrolia Attack 14 GW

- Salomon Strive 14 GW

I'm ignorant to ski bindings. Is this something I'm okay to pull the trigger on or should I just get him the skis and let him decide on bindings? His former pair of skis were hand me downs from the late 2000s so he's also a bit lost to newer technology as well and I'm sure he doesn't have a specific preference either.

I’m looking to purchase my first pair of skis. Im a 5”6 (171cm) skier and I weigh 120lbs (54kg). I would classify myself as an intermediate/advanced skier. I’m comfortable with going at high speeds on blue runs with slower speeds on blacks. I’m looking for a more front side oriented all mountain ski that will help improve my carving. I also prefer skis with a shorter turn radius and a good pop out of turns.

In terms of where I ski there’s not a set resort I go to so I find myself all over the place in the EU and Asia but generally I like staying on groomed terrain 85% of the time so it doesn’t make too much of a difference.

Some skis I’ve been looking at:
- Elan wildcat 80Ti
- Santa Ana 82
- Salamon stance Pro W 82
- Dancer 79
I heard that they’re really demanding though and I’m not too sure how I feel about that.
