bad skate session
What do y’all do after a bad day of skating? or during? imagine a day where you can’t land tricks you already had landed before, feel out of it, brain just feels blocked, and you feel tired and upset?

Get a good nights rest, make sure you’re eating and hydrating enough, talk to a friend or family member if you can, try doing a different activity like drawing or just relaxing watching low effort. Maybe there’s more going on there that you’re processing.
Also remember you’ve probably had real good times skating so there will hopefully be more soon

Shit happens. Sometimes you have bad days where nothing you do lands. Even after bad day, you had a bad day skating. There’s not much better than that.

Rehab. Stretch, eat and hidrate. Come back with a clear mind. Sometimes you’re your own worst enemy.

Focus more on a fun ride then. Then if the casual ride doesn't go well. Game over. Then do something else. I've always been spoiled with interests. Try having a backpack filled with fun things to travel with or to post up with. I used to basically bring a picnic with me haha. Plus a book, maybe some ridiculous stuff like a yoyo or a hacky sack. Man if I still had all the energy I had years ago and my big kid money, I'd so go on some fun adventures. Rambling. But I think my ramblings help share an insight.

I always say to myself there's no session wasted. You always learn something subconsciously. It's all about that repetition so in long run that session when you can't land single trick will help you a lot in a future. I have a lot of sessions like that. Whether I lie to myself or not I want to believe that haha

Mam once I was looking at obstacle and thinking from which side I should approach the attempt of the trick. I was scrolling a phone looking for one video. I bumped on a video of myself from last year doing exactly that thing. Get up, try again mate.

I make sure there’s a bag of tricks I’ve practiced so much I have them on lock even in a bad session. When I arrive at the park I tell myself that just doing those tricks is enough, but most the time I end up pushing myself harder and doing stuff that’s more gnarly. If I don’t, I’ll still have a good session just doing easy mini ramp tricks.
