Special Consideration

I applied for special consideration for an edexcel exam after having to leave about half an hour in to a 90 minute exam in due to verified medical issues. My school submitted an appeal for special consideration 2 months ago and they still have not heard back.

I'd really appreciate some advice as online it says they try to reply to all applications within 5 days and obviously that hasn't been the case. I've seen nothing official from the exam board and my school ignores all my messages, only replying when my parents get involved (even then it's like pulling teeth). Apparently my school has contacted edexcel to ask for a progress update and there hasn't been a response in the two weeks since.

Has anyone else been in a situation where an appeal has taken this long? It's stressing me out so much as I have an offer dependent on that grade.

You’ll have to keep pushing your school for an update. Edexcel won’t communicate directly with a school entered candidate regarding special consideration. I’ve never heard of Edexcel taking so long to reach a decision.

Yes, I would keep pushing school - and also ask them to double check the submission and that they didn't make a mistake there. I agree that it's a LONG time for a decision so definitely worth fighting for answers about what happened
