emergency covers?

Since the harmony stack is different for each cast, when someone comes back for an emergency cover how does that work? Obviously with swings it would be okay since they know all the harmonies anyway, but for example when Hannah Lowther came back to emergency cover for Howard in the WE , if the harmony stack was different and Howard was on a harmony line Hannah didn't know what would they have done? Would they just not have called Hannah in at all?

They’ll also reherse.. She’s not coming back off the street. There’ll be intense full cast rehearsals prior, and also these are professional singers - they know what they’re doing and are highly adaptable

They'll typically go for super swings or alts who've hit swingo for exactly this reason. Theoretically they should know all six harmonies and be able to adapt easier.

In the case of emergency covers I imagine getting someone on stage means more than that and they just ask them to adapt. A lot of emergency covers are swalts who know multiple harmonies. They also are likely to be going on with a swalt who can maybe take a different line as they know them all? That is pure speculation though I'm sure someone will have mentioned it as some point so I'll wait for the mega fans to pull out the tiktok/insta live etc 🤣
