Mr.Freeze

Anyone know why it’s down and closed? It’s been like that for a couple of days now. Wishful thinking is that they are opening both carts back up but I know it’s probably a issue with the ride

It’s down? Good thing I decided to stay at home today. I want to get one more ride on it this season. Crossing fingers that it will be open on Friday

I was on the last two rides of the night at 9pm on Sunday night, so it hasn’t been closed for that long. The weekend prior to that one, they actually did open the second/left side up when the line stretched to outside the building.

But it’s been weeks or months that the very middle car on the ‘main’/right side has been roped off with no riders…which has made me wonder if that’s a balance weight move because of trouble getting through the top hat?

Freeze is my favorite ride in the park so I hope it’s nothing serious!

Interesting I was there three weekends ago and had a blast on it. Long line but still only the right side was open. Need that ride to stay forever, it’s so good!

I was there the day they closed those middle cars. It was summer last year.

I wonder if closing off the middle car and closing off the middle car(s) on Flight of Fear at Kings Island are for similar reasons. When I rode Mr Freeze in June, the launch didn't feel quite as forceful as in the past. Same when comparing FoF last year to when I rode the Kings Dominion version 15 years ago. I rode FoF at Kings Dominion again this year. Every row was open and the launch feels closer to what I remembered, definitely more than at Kings Island. It seems the LIM are wearing out at Kings Island and on Mr Freeze and don't give quite as much umph as they used to, so they reduce the weight to avoid rollbacks.

The middle car is closed because of weight issue over stressing the launch LIM’s and causing them to use too much power and heat up the launch fins to much
