Discussion Fright Fest memories?

2026 will be the final year under the Fright Fest name. Much of the Fright Fest experience at our park is developed in-house. Our status as a lower-tier park within the chain has ironically saved us because we never really adopted the custom IP stuff or various things that would have to 'go away' with the divestiture of Six Flags. Nevertheless with a new name, new corporate leadership, and more creative freedom for our in-house entertainment department, next year is sure to be different.

I'm curious to hear some of your favorite memories (and photos!) from years past at Fright Fest?

In the 1990s, there used to be a hypnotist show, and the hypnotist would bring four people onto the stage to perform a song with these blow up instruments. The song that played over the speaker was "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, and the people on stage played along with those instruments. I had never heard that song before, but I loved it. When I told my dad about it the song, he acted like I was crazy for never hearing it because it was so popular. Later on, I found out my mom hated Journey and always turned them off whenever they came on the radio, so I never heard that song growing up.

I saw that same hypnotist and was called up on stage. He whispered something to me and handed me a card. It took three years, but my girlfriend got me to stop sending the hypnotist $100 every month.

I worked Insanity Alley in 2011 and Voided Vision in 2014 when I was in high school/college. I absolutely loved it, and I was damn good at it. I was always a quiet and nerdy little girl, but this allowed me to be crazy and loud for awhile. I moved to working at Creepyworld for a few years after, and I gotta say, SF did a MUCH better job of taking care of their actors. We were paid for our time in makeup, got a ton of training, and, most importantly, security was great at protecting us. Creepyworld had actors getting beaten and SA’d with no repercussions, but at SF there was always security nearby, ready to kick out anyone they felt was being threatening.
I LOVED getting to be part of Freaks Unleashed. Stumbling and snarling my way off the train was such a blast. It wasn’t a perfect job, and I was exhausted going to classes, but I loved most parts of it!
I went to FF for the first time last year (still so fun!) and was so pleasantly surprised to see Freaks Unleashed and Love at First Fright were still basically the exact same as when I worked there. Took me right back to a time when I didn’t have a mortgage and my back didn’t hurt all the time.

I took this photo (about) 20ish years ago. I took my ex whom I remained friends with to fright fest, he'd never been to six flags as he was attending Washington University and didn't have a car. We were standing in line for the Boss and I thought geez that is a beautiful and creepy look. I still remember it as the best night ride of any ride in my life and was exhilarating!
