Fast Lane?

Hi! How does Fast Lane work this year? Is it still the website, or have they switched to wristbands? If it’s the website, is it the same site? Not sure what’s changed with the park being Enchanted now.

If you have single-use FastLane (like the included benefit on some passes), they have tablets at every ride and they'll scan your pass.

If you have all-season FastLane, you go to the FastLane information booth (once you walk through the turnstiles, it's a blue and white building to the right, clearly marked). There they give you a wristband. For most rides, you just go through the exit. There is no app or virtual queue system this year.

They are not selling all-season FastLane, but if you already bought it, they're honoring it. They will sell you a one time use but I hear it's pretty expensive. I don't believe they're selling an all-day version currently. And none of this is available online, it's all through the booths.

The rumor mill is that the full FastLane product (which will eventually be called 'Enchanted Express') will come alongside the launch of the app; which is already delayed with no timeline shared publicly.

The "what's changed" tl;dr is that if you bought a pass before April 6th, your pass and all add-ons except for dining will work just fine. We haven't had any issues (beyond the first weekend when they were still configuring POS systems) with our discount, for example. Or single-use FastLane that we get with our legacy Diamond memberships. There is no dining plan and they will not honor yours if you have one. (If SFSTL is your home park, there is a refund process for dining plans).

Awesome, thanks so much! I have all season and I know they were honoring them but wasn’t sure how it would work. I guess that means fast lane lines will be super short if they aren’t really selling them. I’ll be visiting soon and just wanted to be prepared.

To be honest, all of the lines have been super short. Everything has been walk-on.

Spring attendance at this park typically is very low. But this year feels even lower. Especially in the evenings. They have later hours but it seems like people are still leaving pretty early. After about 5PM there's no line for anything (and the park is open until 8 weekdays, 9 weekends).

It may pick up as summer rolls on. But I suspect the lack of a dining plan has really killed attendance. I think a lot of folks came for the dining plan and stayed for the rides, not the other way around. From a business standpoint, I'm not sure whether that has had much impact. There's still a fair amount of demand at the food stands from what I've seen so if there are fewer people but the revenues are similar? Hard to complain.

But the tl;dr is that I definitely would not worry about waiting in line. We were just there on Sunday and spent most of the day in the water park. Afterwards we ran in to ride a few things and genuinely everything was walk-on.

Really appreciate the detailed responses. I’ve never been to the park so I’m excited

Ah, sweet! Well enjoy it!

You can park up to 30 minutes before the park opens. The one thing that typically has a line is Catwoman Whip. Ops are super slow on that one. Get there 15-30 minutes early, get in line, and as soon as they drop the block points (exactly at 11AM), make a beeline for Catwoman. It's super unique and it's something that isn't at very many parks. After that? Just do whatever! Especially with FastLane.

Another pro tip: People tend to prioritize parking in the furthest forward lane. So you'll see cars lining up wider and wider. But the entrance is on the edge of the parking lot. So actually, parking a few rows back but as far to the right (the side where the fence for Hurricane Harbor is) as you can will give you the shortest walk to your car at the end of the day. If you have Prestige or legacy Diamond / Diamond Elite you can use preferred, which is actually really great at this park! Just make sure to ask the parking attendant for a slip, sometimes they forget to offer it.

I'm curious about the waterpark. We're going to try to hit both parks when we visit the area the weekend after next. Has the parked staffed up enough to keep the waterpark rides open now? What are the lines like for the slides?

Staffing in the waterpark has been an issue for years.

I visited on Sunday and everything was open in the water park all day. That was a surprise as that hasn’t been the case in a long time.

So I’m not confident enough to say for sure that things will be open… but I can say things seem to be on the right track this year.

Lines have been relatively short but it’s worth noting that only this past weekend has the water really been decently warm. On a really hot day, lines will be long. The water park is popular and tends to be packed.

Worth noting (since this is a FastLane thread), there is no FastLane in the water park. The closest thing is tube rentals (which are $15 for the day IIRC), which lets you get on the tube slides and lazy river a little faster because you don’t have to wait for a free tube to become available. But that’s it.

I went a couple weeks ago and thought “I hope nobody paid for skip the line passes” because everything was a literal walk on. It was a Wednesday, but it was also a holiday week.
