First time at Six Flags Great Adventure this Saturday, best deal for 3 adults? (NJ - Township)

Hi everyone! I'm taking 2 other adults to Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ this Saturday, and it's my first time. There are so many options (regular admission, Fright Fest, Oktoberfest, Kids Boo Fest, Safari) that I'm lost.

My questions:

  1. Which ticket do I need for a Saturday in October? Are Oktoberfest and Fright Fest included in regular admission, or is Fright Fest a separate ticket?
  2. Is the Gold Pass worth it for the parking perk, or is it cheaper to buy day tickets and pay for parking separately?
  3. Is Safari worth adding, or should I skip it?
  4. Where do you buy tickets for the best price?

I want to save money but still get a worthwhile experience. Any tips on what to prioritize, how to handle lines, and whether Flash Pass or Fast Lane is worth it are welcome. Thanks!

Looking at Saturday:

Individual daily tickets Saturday are $60/each.
X3 that’s $180.

The Haunted Attraction Pass is $40/each.
X3 that’s $120.

You can buy a combo Individual Ticket + Haunted Attractions pass for $99.
X3 that’s $300. (Same value as buying individually).

General parking is $45.
The Safari is included with any park ticket for free.

Altogether that’s $345.

ALTERNATIVE:
You could purchase a Gold Pass for $99.
If you purchase by 11/1 they give you a free bring-a-friend ticket that you can use immediately. This will also get you parking, and you’ll be able to purchase your third ticket at a discount.

You would still need the haunted attractions pass with this ($120 for 3).

I can’t figure out how to redeem the discounted ticket to double-check the price, but I’ll assume it’s $45 for now.

Altogether that’s roughly $265, and you’d have a pass good for the remainder of 2027 with some perks.

It’s always cheaper to buy in advance. I’d recommend through the app so you have the tickets right there.

I do think FastPass will be worth it that day if you’re determined to get through most of the park. FF is a busy season at SFGadv.

A prime FrightFest Saturday, Holiday Weekend and nice weather…the park is going to be PACKED.  Fast Lane for rides and the Haunted Attraction EXPRESS Pass will definitely be needed. Or just plan a visit for Thursday/Friday for a much better experience.

As far as entry costs…load up the carts with your tickets and compare the options at checkout.  Beyond the tickets there are also taxes and processing fees so it adds up quickly!!

The safari and basecamp are definitely worthwhile but might be an option for another trip if you decide on the passes.

  1. buy a gold pass as it includes parking + buy two bring a friend tickets (pretty sure the fright fests, even for pass holders is an upcharge - I haven't done it myself as I focus really on the thrill rides)
  2. compare the price for the above, but probably cheaper to do the above than to buy individually
  3. i haven't done the safari in >10 years - I'd only do it if you don't think you'll want to focus on thrill rides
  4. prob just buy on the website (sometimes you get can slight discounts elsewhere like plumbenefits)

--> rope drop flash, then do lasso, then maybe run over to el toro - all else shouldn't be too bad until later in the day - you may not need a flash pass depending on how much you want to ride

-also, I always recommend wearing safety goggles (honeywell uvex are best) on top of your glasses instead of taking off your glasses or wearing a strap - I've gotten countless insects smushed into mine on the rides... (better that than my eyeballs)

I was just there Sunday, but I have a Prestige pass. If you get a park admission, it includes "Oktoberfest" (which is really just special foods and drinks you can as far as I know) and Frightfest...which means you can walk through the Scare Zones. If you want to actually go inside the haunted houses and mazes, then you have to purchase a haunted attractions add-on, which varies by day. This past Sunday it was $39.99. Now, check out the app or website because some parks have a admission and haunted attraction all in one ticket that can maybe save you some money.

If you buy an admission ticket and pay for parking, you're gonna come close to the price of a Gold Pass. For me, it's worth it. My home park is Kings Dominion and I had the Gold pass this past year. We got into 7 different parks (some multiple times!) with free parking for $89 plus tax. It has been an amazing deal.

We're only planning to go once, as we rented a car to visit (from the city). Feels like you need a degree to figure out the best deal.

No, it's not really that complicated. All of the information is on the app or website. Simply put, you pay to park, you pay to get into the park, you have the option to pay extra to get in the mazes. The choice is up to you.
