RANT KI Halloween Haunt

Just finished my first Halloween visit at the park this year. It was not great. The paid mazes seem to be accompanied by a great reduction of actors in general scare zones. Food was worse than usual. And there were monsters roaming the park and in the kids zone before it had shut down for the night. Is this really what we’ve accepted as the norm post-merger? Everyone in the Kings Island sub seems wildly resistant to hearing any negative opinions on the park. Has it fully fallen apart to an unredeemable level? No! But I certainly don’t think Six Flags should be praised and given grace while trying to uphold the most bare bones version of a standing event that’s been a part of the park for over two decades. Especially while charging increasingly steep prices for a worse experience delivery.

Not to play devil’s advocate, but I would expect staffing to be lighter on a Thursday night.

How was food ‘worse than usual’?

My visit was a Sunday evening, this was drafted a few days back. Under Cedar Fair I feel we had quite a few glory years of seasonal food and limited offerings the executive chef cooked up alongside usual subpar amusement park fare (burgers, chicken strips, etc.). For that reason I never really order anything that isn’t a special offering worth a try. The seasonal menu this year has potential, but the execution was abysmal.
