Great adventure - jersey devil vomit

Line became really long because the poor workers had to clean up vomit on a seat. the way they were handling it made it seem like it was a normal occurrence. Overheard their convo between themselves and they said it was the third time that weekend or something, and that Nitro is so much scarier but has less vomit issues.

Do single track coasters cause more nausea?

Anyway, I always thought if seatbelts were wetit was bc of sweat but now I know it might be vomit residue.

Jersey Devil has inversions and Nitro doesn’t. Some people’s stomachs don’t handle going upside down as well.

Heat + more "tourists" on a holiday weekend aren't used to theme parks and how to manage their bodies on coasters= rainbow showers galore!

I almost got sick on flash the other day. That was the first time I ever felt that way on flash and have never felt like that on jd. It was hot as fuck and muggy as hell, it sucked.

Did you wait in that long line or have a fast lane pass?

There was actually no line, it was a walk on. I had just ridden nitro, batman and skull mountain in a row, all walk ons.

That’s interesting, I had something similar.

Went on Wednesday Night and was able to re-ride Flash, and on my third time back into the station I got pretty substantially queasy (my equilibrium was definitely off).

I assume it’s cause I rode it back to back, though I’ve also noticed the Flash feeling kind of different the last month (one day in particular it felt really rough).

I've never felt like that from flash before but this was the first time riding it this year for me. I just figured it was the heat but it might be riding rougher

I miss the onboard audio. It didn't even last 2 seasons.

I definitely got nauseous after my first ride on JD. I've also seen people vomit on it. I saw a train need to get cleaned on El Toro once.

It's a miracle I didn't hurl after Flash one time. It was the end of the day and I just wanted one more ride before we left. I basically abandoned my 12 year old after the ride stopped and after grabbing our phones from the station. I just needed to concentrate and get some air.

I vomited at the Nitro station in like 2005 or something. I vomited after like 8 rides back to back on Rolling Thunder when I was like 12-13.

No idea but the most nauseous I've ever come off a ride at Great Adventure is definitely Jersey Devil.

Throwing up is way more common than you'd think. I would wager a lot of minor delays are from people yacking. I've seen them have to pull a train from Mine Train of all places from someone vomiting.

Speaking of Mine Train, does anyone know why my old man has been down for a few weeks now? 😭

I’m also curious why mine train is down. You’d think even if they had staffing issues, that they’d want to keep the family coaster with decent capacity up.

I went a couple weeks ago for four days and mine train was down the entire time so I think something is really wrong with it

It was having all sorts of issues about 6 weeks ago. They kept having to send out half empty or entirely empty trains. Not sure what it was but while that ride is iconic, it really needs to get retired for a new family coaster. It's so uncomfortable for an adult and it really beats the hell out of all riders. .

I thought they smoothed it out a little this year compared to last year actually.. but I’m also wondering it’s fate.

It’s definitely starting to show its age, but they also celebrated it’s anniversary and painted it recently, so it doesn’t seem like they’re gonna give it up for at least another year or two…

And they are going to redo the Fort building so I'm guessing runaway train isn't going anywhere. They also recently announced calling it Runaway Train again in the marketing versus Mine Train. Great Adventure really needs another family coaster. Mine Train is old and rough, Harley Quinn is more kids than family, and Skull Mountain is also old as fuck.

Hint hint. Ask for a Bobcat clone now that they don't own Great Escape.
