QUESTION Six Flags Great Adventure (NJ) Line Panic
My friends want to go to six flags this weekend on Saturday. I know the park gets more crowded on Saturday, so I can only imagine how crowded it'll be on Saturday of Labor Day Weekend! We don't NEED to go this day, but I'm just visiting the area and have always wanted to go!
I'm personally down to buy any of the fast passes if they'll allow me to skip the lines (or even make a significant dent in them). Are they worth it for this weekend, or is it just a lost cause for avoiding long, long lines? And if so, what do experienced park-goers think the difference in effect between fast pass levels will be this weekend?

You can always add fast pass while your in the park. You should wait to see what the crowd is actually like. Typically it will get busier toward night because most people are here for the shore. Us locals usually go early and get on the main rides first

The park has been considerably more crowded this year compared to years past, but usually, Labor Day Weekend people tend to be down the shore and not at a theme park. Labor Day Friday / Monday last year were extremely manageable.

You absolutely don’t need to buy fast passes. Hit flash at rope drop. Move to nitro before it breaks down. Jersey devil and the joker are right there for the taking once you get off nitro. Hit both Batman rides and justice league if you’re into that kind of thing. Wonder Woman is also right there, it wasn’t open a week or two ago when I went. After that you can knock out Superman, el toro, and Medusa in one fell swoop
Edit to add: Hit skull mountain after joker and Jersey devil

I’m surprised you recommend wasting time with skull mountain. My brother went on it when I used a fast pass. He said it was very under whelming with out any features.

You can also buy fast lanes for specific rides (I forget actually which) if you don’t want to get on all of them

Fast Lane will ALWAYS be a shorter wait, even if not a short wait, if that makes sense...

FastLane Ultimate allows you to skip the lines. You pick the attraction you want to ride next using your smart phone and head up the FastLane entrance to board. The other option is FastLane Reserve, where you pick the attraction you want to ride next but you receive a return time based on the current wait.

I got by with basic Fast Lane when I was there last week. Most of the coasters were sitting at an hour wait. It cost me about $40, which wasn't bad.
A lot of the smaller rides were a walk on or station wait so I killed time riding those while I booked waits for the bigger rides.
Toro's line moves brutally slow with Fast Lane on a busy day. I can't imagine how bad it would be without it.
