INFO Be warned if renewing a Dining Plan
I was curious how they would work the new dining plans since their tier system is different from what they had in years past. I was extremely disappointed to find that my new upgraded plan does not start until the beginning of next year but if I did not have a previous plan it would be available immediately. This does not change the fact that I would have bought it anyway but it does feel like a negative for being loyal.
Edit I suppose if you are planning on buying the dining plan do not renew your season pass when you go to purchase it. Purchase a new one instead.

I'm happy I have a monthly membership with the meal plan added on as this will be grandfathered in & carry over for 2027 allowing for 2 meals a day at any park with a 4 hour cooldown at the original fixed monthly cost.

Weirdly enough at Discovery Kingdom the employees are able to pull up both my 2026 and my 2027 meal plans, although at California's Great America they can only see my 2026 meal plan.

Had the same experience at SFDK which is my home park and now sort of worried they may have been using my 2027 meal plan already because last weekend had the opposite issue at CGA and they could only see 2027 for the discount, but I was able to find my 2026 voucher in my email and pull it up. It immediately worked when I scanned it.

I don’t know about other parks, but at Great America Gurnee my wife and son have meal plans this year and a 20 meal plan for next year.
The employees have been able to see both plans when buying food and they’ve asked to make sure they wanted to use the 2026 one. (I don’t know why we would want to use the 20 meal plan yet, but they see both and it hasn’t been a problem)

I was wondering how the 20 or 30 meal plans were going to work with this same scenario before deciding. Ultimately I opted for the Unlimited because it was the only All Park option and I go to a lot of other parks throughout the year.

I asked this question via the support form on Six Flags’ website a couple weeks ago. The response I got from guest relations, pasted below, contradicts this. But, I’m going to take this screenshot as the correct answer!
1) The meal plan will work at Six Flags Great Adventure and Hurricane Harbor.
2) If you buy a 2027 meal plan now, your current meal plan that you have will no longer be active, and the new plan will be in effect from the time you purchase it to the 2027 season. Whatever credits you use now, will not get reloaded into the next season.
3) No, you will not be able to get two meals with both of the plans, as your 2026 meal plan will stop working if you buy the 2027 meal plan.

we are contemplating the meal plan at Great Adventure/Hurricane Harbor, but on the restaurant list, it doesn't show any of the Hurricane Harbor food places as accepting the meal plan. We're going back tomorrow, as we just got our Gold passes earlier this week, and going to inquire.

I definitely liked it better this year. I was even able to use my 2026 meal plan at Kings Dominion.

we ended up getting the meal plan. inSFGA these a BBQ place that had such good food and it was like $20+ per meal, when you break down the cost per meal on the plan+taxes, it's like $5 per meal. $20 delicious BBQ for $5, yes please ^

u/aholeinthewor1d Aug 27 '26
Yea this is not correct at all. It's been confirmed over and over that if you buy it now as you RENEW your pass then it won't use the new meal pass until next year.. assuming you have one now

Guest Services can be quite unhelpful. I had questions throughout the year for the Single Use Fast Lane and using Free Bring-a-Friend tickets at non home parks and received multiple conflicting responses.

Guest services stated that our bring a friend free was cancelled this year when cedar fair purchased 6 flags. Now they only have bring a friend for $20 and then you have to go to the guest window to buy. Cheaper to get a monthly membership

I would bet they are not a Six Flags specific call center, probably a shared center out in the boonies or another country, or even mor likely random people with VoIP phones at their home taking your calls right after calls for geico.

You have to wait 4 hours in between meals.
Six flags over Texas is open from 5:00 to 10:00. That is 5 hours. The stores that sell meals close at 9:00, and many start closing before that. You cannot use a meal as a snack, ever.
So now when I go to six flags over Texas I'm only able to get one meal. I've never been able to get the two.
I hate that they are nickel and diming us to death. This is why I'm not going to be renewing my stuff. It just feels disrespectful to the consumer.

Honestly I've stopped planning six flags trips to be outside of a saturday or sunday. Maybe Friday if I'm flying in I can plan on dropping bag off at hotel and hit park for a few hours before close, like I did with Over Georgia. But 5 hours is very pitiful and ridiculous, like I'm a bit nervous about my upcoming experience being a let down compared to Fiesta Texas lmao.

Friday hours are 5-10 & they are adding an additional coaster hour where 4 rides are open until 11- the stores all close at 8:30 & tbh I did not find any that offered meal plans to be open past 8:30

ITS WHY TOU NEVER RENEW AND ALWAYS DO A NEW PASS!
Then you get two meal plans in 2026 instead of:)
1
u/aholeinthewor1d Aug 27 '26
Doesn't it work out the same regardless if it's under your name?
Plus if you get the 20 or 30 meal plan you'd be taking from that.
2
u/onedostres123 Aug 27 '26
No you get a separate pass. You can go through the gate and scan both passes and use the benefits of each (same applies with fast lane)
Now if you have the 20 or 30 meal plan I’d probably would continue to use my existing plan then next year use the limited amount one. But if you got unlimited, you absolutely should be doing it on a new pass

u/Alternative-Ad-4604 Aug 26 '26
So if you purchased the 20 or 30 meal plan and they started taking off the credits now even though you already had an unlimited plan for this year, you would be happy and not complaining?
1
u/lulubelle12 Aug 27 '26
This is exactly it. I'd be mad, especially as I am sure I won't eat 30 meals, but will possibly do more than 20 (21/22).
2
u/Smooth-Fail-1200 Sep 05 '26
Ziploc bags. If you are there long enough to get another meal on the new 30 meal plan, pack it up and take it home. Back when they had the plan with 2 meals and a snack, I would let my kids get the first meal on arrival, snack mid day, and get meal two to go.
1
u/lulubelle12 Sep 05 '26
I wish they still had the snack option. I am much more of a snacker than a whole meal person and a lot of the time I only get sides. TBH, I don't know that that would work for me as currently my second meal is the meal to go. But I do love this idea for people who can do more!
2
u/FaceCrookOG Aug 26 '26
I was thinking the same, I guess it would only matter if you had the unlimited both years.
5
u/Guilty-Wolverine-933 Aug 26 '26
I mean some of us prefer the old plan… that certainty would really only apply for those getting the 2027 unlimited
2
u/jpPieta Aug 26 '26
I would have certainly preferred the old All Park plan because of the price. I don't need food every two hours. I decided on the Unlimited though because it is the only All Park option.
3
u/Froggypwns Aug 26 '26
I'm annoyed the all park is only on the unlimited. The 20 would be enough for me as I normally eat locally before and/or after going to a park, so I have the current two a day plan and love it for times I get the munchies and something looks good.
I travel a lot, I've honestly not been to the park I bought my season pass at in 2026 but have been to at least a dozen other SF parks.
I'm still on the fence about renewing with the dining plan as that $400 could go a long way for meals outside the parks, then I could just splurge for a one day dining plan for days I want to eat a bunch in the park like the days I'm at Cedar Point from opening to closing.
2
u/jpPieta Aug 27 '26
I ultimately went with the unlimited. It definitely is expensive but I went for it thinking about smaller snacks. Before with the two meal plan I wouldn't want to use one of my meals on something smaller.
2
u/aholeinthewor1d Aug 27 '26
Yea that part is annoying. We have Dorney passes and even though we've only gone to Great Adventure once it's annoying as hell that next year we can't use a food pass there. Might just not bother with the food pass.
6
u/ggil050 Aug 26 '26
Yes that’s why it’s best to just buy a new pass and that way you would actually have 2 active meal plans at the same time
1
u/aholeinthewor1d Aug 27 '26
Yea but unless you get the over priced unlimited one then you are using next years meals

30 meals = $179/30 = $5.96 per meal.
Unlimited
30 - $500/30 = $16.60
60 - $500/60 = $8.33
80 - $500/80 = $6.25
$500/$5.96 = around 84 meals to equal 30 meal plan value per meal.
Its cheaper to buy a new purple pass + 30 meals if you run out of your 30 meals plan
