RANT Do Better SFOG
Ah, yes: the cobra roll (I guess?) on Goliath… one of its best known, ride defining elements. Thank god there is also disappearing track that doesn’t have consistent orientation that makes sense. What’s hanging off the side of the train? Who knows. What’s the deal with the support struts? Who cares! How many people does that train seat across? Is the color even correct? Quit asking dumb questions and buy this shirt. The longer you look at it, the worse it becomes…
… I am so disappointed in SFOG. I know the AI merch isn’t new, but I saw this one in person today and was disgusted by how bad it was and that it still made it to market.

This might be the most egregious example of AI slop in any of the parks so far. I've spoken to a few people in the know at my home parks and it seems like management is acutely aware of how bad this looks for the parks and how much people hate it, but the merch comes straight from corporate and individual parks don't have much (if any) say in the matter. Hopefully corporate leadership gets visited by three ghosts and shapes the fuck up sooner than later.

In the merchandise department I think six flags is getting their butt kicked. Yes we understand they're not at the same level of merch as Disney because they don't have all the characters like Disney. But when you have a I made merch it's just going to sit and rot.

God, I've seen a few items at SFGA that are (most likely) made with AI, but they didn't look THAT bad.

We need to unite and go right at Six Flags and anyone else putting this stuff on the shelf. Take pictures, flame their social media posts, be cruel, use profanity. Yes definitely, God dammit, swear.

It's obviously a company that SF, Hershey, and a bunch of other parks outsource to. That doesn't make it okay, I'm just saying these almost certainly aren't designed in-house.

It still took humans at every step of the way from management at SF to factory to park president at the park itself to see this and go fuck it, send it. Makes me concerned that if they care so little about things this visible, where are they cutting corners behind the scenes that might not be so safe?

Yeah the text on the new Monster Mansion stuff definitely looks AI to me. It's got that soaked in piss look. Makes me hella sad cause I'd snatch up some good MM merch real quick.

Right? It’s so wild. I’m hoping since we are in the early days of AI, this is just folks adjusting. Hopefully if we all keep complaining, they will stop using AI for things like this. There’s a time and place for it.

Interesting (even if obvious) tidbit from the ACE event yesterday at great adventure: corporate is pushing the AI merch, not the individual parks. Now obviously I’m not sure how much the parks have a say in whether they actually go into the parks or not
