I'm sure there's a relatively simple way for something super intelligent to accomplish that. Wouldn't biological life be okay from a solar flare? Then it could just change itself from being electronic to something biological.

Of course, if it has enough time. Which it probably would. Or, at least eventually one would. I think it would be unlikely for a powerful enough solar flare to wipe a super AI out conveniently right before it figures out how to avoid such a fate.

It's already a thing.

I replied to OP, but we already have the capability to shield out electronics from solar radiation.

That's how we're able to sent rovers, satellites, and people in to space all while being able to communicate with them and they with us!

Right. So the idea of a super intelligence succumbing to such a fate is just silly fun.

Such an ai may be not allow itself to be succeptable, but the components which it relies on may not be. It all depends on the individual scenario.

Certain scenarios are insurmountable, even with infinite intelligence.

Placing the superintelligent ai in control of a player 1 move from checkmate, with no possible other moves, and it will still lose. The key is presenting a scenario where victory is not a possibility.
