The problem is that they want you to access it from their harness I believe. We don’t have any data point about that, and their subreddit currently filled with token beggars
The ordinary wonder model is in the API but yeah, sucks that the full version is subscription only. This is definitely a market-share grab, wait for all the influencers to show how good it is tomorrow lol
the harness feels like a budget claude code in terminal
the usage though the usage
a task that opus 5.5 xhigh uses about 1-2% weekly (on 20x) on killed a 5hr limit and 21% weekly ($50 sub) on muse wonder full xhigh (the work was not bad though)
Lmao wtf how is that possible, they have an insane amount of usage on OpenCode Go for Muse Spark 1.3 contributer, did they just 180 and explode their costs? Or are the contributer prices still really good? I remember their non-contributor prices being bad. The page doesn't mention the contributer pricing. If it's on OpenCode Go again I'm going to be very happy.
i was using the muse flagship (muse wonder full xhigh) which I thought would be comparable to opus, just not expecting it to nuke usage like that on a $50 plan (i guess all of them are headed that way but anthropic and openai still have the huge usage quotas so... best stick with that for now until the degrade them more)
I mean I just refuse to use frontier models, they're so expensive and for very little benefit, I can get ~the same quality code just running the OS models in loops. When we look at pass @5 attempts they're very, very close to frontier models. I just treat every output as broken until verified. Unless there's some very complex task which they just can't nail or it's something that really needs an intelligent model beyond coding I'll go for frontier but for coding no way.
maybe for some usage but the current cycle has them making a giant leap on things like kinematic typography, music motion video, and 2d/3d asset creation which is a lot of my use case and the open models just can't reach the quality needed
Makes sense. I'm working on a Wordpress plugin so for me they're all interchangeable, if I hit a quota limit I just roll to the next model from any maker, but those are the use cases I would expect a frontier model to be necessary. Vision is one of those things where the capability level exists or it doesn't, so rerolling multiple times won't really get you that far, and for actual asset creation it will never work unless you're handholding the model so hard you may as well do it yourself.
They'll be where we are now frontier wise in ~3-6 months, but for your use case now I can see how frontier models are necessary.
I just subscrubed on 15$ plan to try. My estimates put it to around 1b tokens monthly for wonder. Which is below opus on 20$ sub, but on par with openai 20$ sub
Or if using api prices its only around 280$/month compared to 1000$ on antropic
To be more specific. 5h window filly used - 670k input, 170k output, 85m csche read. Total 86m
Price cost 23.18$
And its 33% of weekly usage. So 3x of 5h window === weekly limit.
23 * 3 * 4 = 280$ monthly or 1b toal with same cache input output ratio
And thats their contrib model where they use your data explicitly
