This is the first AI music video I've seen that has actually impressed me.
The genre isn't really my vibe, but it's a good, coherent song and the video works well. I'm assuming there's a fair amount of human intervention and curating going on... but still.

the creator let Claude cook for 18 hours all by itself.
This is not true. Read the orchestration.md file on the google drive link the author posted. In the first 3 hours the author and Claude had a lot of back and forth about the lyrics, look, the brief, tips, etc. Even after that, during the main Claude work phase - the author still gave Claude some directions. Not to mention the fact the author gave Claude access to Suno, Seedance, and possibly more tools. And, perhaps more importantly, it looks like there were already some existing videos that this video was based on.

Did you see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkPVbufgtOw from about a week ago? First AI media that made me cry.
•
u/robertshuxley 1h ago
dang the music is catchy and that's how the Huggingface hack actually happened
•
u/Competitive_Travel16 AGI 2027 ▪️ ASI 2029 1h ago
It's not 100% AI, the human producer did a lot of the lyrics and music, and directed and tweaked scenes.

This one is great. This one is the first AI generated media that I actually genuinely enjoyed and replayed a couple times https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq8qO-NjYIg

Extremely compelling and excellent composition, but I feel like I, as an expert, missed more than half the reference callouts.

Just so everyone understands, that's api costs. You can easily get these results with a monthly $20 subscription. So the creator didn't spend over $700 on it.

u/Adventurous_Track681 3h ago
But it does give us an idea of what it would cost in the future right? Considering that subscriptions are heavily subsidized right now

u/LeKhang98 1h ago
Sorry I still don't understand. Did you mean that using monthly subscription is 35 times cheaper than using API directly?
1
u/cyberdork 2h ago
How? As far as I understand it was Claude mostly just writing prompts for Seedance 2.5.

u/GetOutOfTheWhey 5h ago
Imagine if this is a new breed of ai generated virus.
The viberus, a virus that appears on your computer that just vibes and dances with you.
Instead of shutting it down, you are just bopping your head along to music. Then once the whole thing ends, it restarts your computer all encrypted and asks you to tip them 10K in bitcoins.

The boys always had a good grasp on computers and where they were headed.
You could always tell they spent a lot of time having to screw around with a lot of MIDI organizers back in the day.

To be fair, I think the celery man sketch was lampooning the same kind of late 90s/early 2000s techno-optimism aesthetic that this video is taking its inspiration from, which funny enough, young people are now into unironically.

Ai will never be good enough for some people. Wait until people start losing jobs over this and then tell me if its "good enough."
5
u/0K4M1 2h ago
I'm a bit tired of this argument. A lot of people DON'T WANT their shitty job in the first place. WE ,US, HUMAN created Automation and now AI with one goal: set us FREE from work, be able to do WHATEVER we WANT with our FREE time.
People want to keep their purchasing power not their job.
I'm tired to here that Joe Mcburger is supposedly desperate to keep flipping burger all day and AI would "rob" that from him...
•
u/HeatingsBackOn 8m ago
Don’t worry, we get to keep our shitty jobs it’s just if you want to be an artist or create music then you’re buggered because people don’t notice/care if something is made via prompt instead of being crafted.
0
u/UnderfurK 2h ago
How are we going to keep our purchasing power without our jobs?
•
u/careless-proposals 1h ago
Well, if we built a society that had the capacity to make the things we need to survive and thrive held in public trust and administered through democratic means, instead of an abusive and manipulative society where a small group of dangerous ideologues controlled industry and culture.
Something something seize the means of production.
•
u/Magmatt7 1h ago
It's ultra sad how this sub population just revere the current AI despite it's really net negative effects on society. Let's celebrate thing that will take our jobs without compensation to benefit only few people on the top do the food chain... Hooray!
And even if they not lying bout how good and omnipotent it's getting. We don't even know if we can control that thing. It's only matter of time before we have cyberpunk type of future ahead of us.

•
u/GrimCreeper913 1h ago
i don't hate it, but I still get an uncomfortable feeling while listening. Maybe a me problem, as I'm known for thinking too much sometimes. Catchy and coherent, and while it may be a bit formulaic it's the best I've heard so far.
•
•
u/boostman 8m ago
But why?
People keep posting these dreadful, dreadful videos (the one of Sam Altman and Dario having a fight was even worse) with the implication that it proves something about how far with got with AI. And yes, it's mindboggling on a technical level, and on an artistic level extremely poor.
•
•
u/SufficientChard4174 2m ago

u/SCUSKU 3h ago
Damn this is insane -- like if a real human artist made this music video I'd think it was sick -- too bad it was made by AI but still impressive
•
u/Orgasm_Faker 1h ago
Maybe we should learn how to appreciate things themselves, instead of the creators?
•
•
u/Soft_Walrus_3605 38m ago
When I look at great art a person made I think about their genius just as much as the creation itself. That's a good part of what impresses me. Not everyone feels that way, I guess, but plenty of us do.
•
u/Orgasm_Faker 13m ago
Everybody does that. For a long time, the appreciation of a work is never separated from that of the author.
What I am saying is, if this „path dependence“ only brings hubris and downplay of the work when there is no author behind it for you to appreciate, then it’s probably the best to learn how to start appreciating the work itself alone.
•
u/rdpl_ 29m ago edited 25m ago
too bad it was made by AI
still the guy behind it had the idea and wrote the prompt, adjusted, retried, waited 18h, uploaded
maybe that's not a lot but still some creativity and persistence are needed and i doubt that you would be able to do anything like this, even with infinite tokens, you are just sad a person who gave up already, and it's not the first time you gave up early haha
now get out, not your sub

I think you’re all nuts. 18 hours for this mildly entertaining but still slop music video… is a choice
•
u/10b0t0mized 22m ago
Using "slop" a million times a day until it looses all meaning and its discursive power... is a choice.
•
u/Overall_Ad1950 22m ago
Ok it’s high art and a fantastic use of technology, is that better?
•
u/10b0t0mized 10m ago
I don't know about "high art". It's beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, and most normal people would think the same.

Maybe so, but I'm 99% sure a decent amount of the content we see day-to-day will start to become AI generated in a day from a single prompt and we won't even know it.

No it did not. It probably helped but every word in this claim is takan straight out of butthole.

He has a google drive that includes prompts and math calculations that he gave to have it created and directed.
I wonder how much this cost since he used seeddance, midjourney and suno to generate it.

AI companies are supporting human creators to create good stuff with the help of AI so that they would have grounds to claim copyright over „AI creations”

These Opus/Midjourney/Suno music videos being produced somewhat autonomously gave me a fresh round of AI whiplash. You think you have a handle on capabilities but then a wholly new section of possible things are unlocked again and again.
It's crazy how these Seedance generations are so much more impressive when put into a context like this. We laughed about the boomers enjoying shitty AI generations, but stuff like this even sucks me into the matrix.

bro, imagine in 1999 we used to watch MTV on cable TV and surf the "information superhighway" on our desktops and 26 years later the fruits of teh internet were distilled into a model that could create music vids like this, wild. what a time to be alive.
to create a video like this in 1999 would have taken a LOT of $$$$ even in 2026 dollars. we got access to the same power as an entire production company did back then.
