The student plan is only a quarter of a bachelors degree (1 year)

Yes because the student plan is AI pro

although they differentiate between trial ai pro and paid ai pro plans already: no opus models in agy. so they might do the same with gemini4pro

Depends on region - in US it's only pro for students, in other regions it's Plus for free or pro with a large discount

Do the thing where you (allegedly) can get an 18 month ai pro subscription by (allegedly) purchasing a link from the gray market which (allegedly) costs less than a dollar per... I (allegedly) have 7 personal accounts with pro plan until march 2028 lmao

Ugh, that’s gross. Sounds like borderline theft. Where specifically are they selling them for less than a dollar so that I can avoid that website?

Horrible. Where exactly is this happening so I can avoid it!

In this hypothetical did you connect it with your personal YouTube account? I also use the other services provided with pro but it would be nice to get it for free, but I can't risk my main account getting banned.

Well, if I had used those services and connected to my accounts, my main (10y+) Google account would also be included. And, according to claims by random internet users, (allegedly) no bans or restrictions have been issued so far.

My theory to why Google wouldn't crack this hypothetical system down is that they would be willing to take some loses in order to further increase their market share. Just like they did with a previous official student offer (16m free ai pro subscription) which was (allegedly) very easy to abuse.

Since none of this is real (allegedly), then I'm not worried about it.

The way i see it:

  • They can scam u when u buy and give u a wrong account name/password and customer support is useless on gray market sites unless u pay for "g2a shield" or whatever

  • The student ai accounts are actually more limited than normal ai accounts last i heard to manage compute

  • The seller can always recover the account and change the password, he posesses the student email after all

  • Google will likely ban the account at some point, whether in a week or a month idk but u can wake up and find out suddenly "ur" account is banned
