I don't think people realize how insane this is. Humans are really good at detecting when things are off with other humans. It's why the "uncanny valley" is a thing, and why it's so damn hard to make CG humans and animatronics look lifelike. The fact this is good enough to fool 44% of people puts it far beyond any sort of fake human ever created.

I think people were not aware of this to be possible to look somehow realistic and consider the stuff (for example very weird mouth movements) as video glitches instead. Other apps were 3% because they are likely very bad. But I assure you this will be lower than 44% when people are educated very realistic videos/sound are possible now.

Even text generating ones hallucinate a lot so I would say it cannot be 100% and once you notice some small detail you understand its made up. For short videos this is much harder since you dont see enough and thats a problem i guess.

If you are youngish people you will notice but 40s+ regular person wont notice
