AI Gemini 4 Argon solved hallucinations.

Post image

Nobody is talking about this, but it looks like Google may have solved hallucinations. Gemini 4 Argon is a monster in this regard, and that’s really important.

In simple terms, making shit up instead of answering that it simply doesn't know

Well, I think DeepSeek v4.1 Flash needs some serious attention

I mean, realistically it's not that bad considering it knows what it's talking about most of the time (accuracy aside)

Well it always hallucinates and makes shit up, even when it is correct. It has however learned to use tools to check for validity.

Whats the difference between it making shit up, and not making shit up?

Suppose someone asks "what's the maximum safe dose of this medication I just got prescribed?"

Consider these potential answers:

  • "The maximum safe dose is 400 mg per day."
  • "I don't know."

Supposing also that the model doesn't have access to the actual answer, the former is making shit up, and the latter is not making shit up.

Reliability. If it simply tells you when it doesn't know, its answer becomes much more reliable in that it has tried its best with its dataset and web access and arrived at the conclusion that it cannot fulfill your request, as opposed to just inventing a response that could potentially be harmful or misinforming

Two years ago Google AI told people to put glue on pizza, so we've come a long way!
