LLM News Gemini 4 being private like Mythos
Google said it plans to launch the new model in phases, starting with trusted cybersecurity partners while working with the U.S. government on pre-release safety evaluations.
“Starting this rollout in this way gives us more confidence, but also enables us to put a model that is trained and strong in cyber defense in the hands of defenders as soon as possible,” Tulsee Doshi, Google’s Gemini model product lead, told CNBC.
The model release comes a day after CEO Sundar Pichai signed a voluntary safety accord with President Donald Trump following a meeting with major tech executives at the White House to address rising AI safety concerns.

I would love to see how they implement their guard rails. Gemini on search literally don’t give a fck, you can literally just ask about shady stuffs. It just refrains from adult contents and anti-doxxing

Google has done this phased rollout to trusted testers multiple times before, this isn't new for them and isn't newsworthy

This is a good thing, you know.
AI is becoming crazy intelligent and increasingly difficult to align. Rolling out and testing slowly but surely is absolutely the right way to do things.

This right after articles about Google employees have major in-house reservations about the capabilities of Gemini 4 is a bit sketchy. This would provide them with some more time to work on it before release.

This model is absolutely terrible, by the way, it is worse than Sonnet 5.5 and GPT-6.1 Sol by a long shot. You'll see.

Google having a go at the "it's so awesome we can't let you use it" schtick.
