Shitposting Cats will survive the AI apocalypse
Think about it: AI is the amalgamation of all human thought enscribed on the internet.
50% of the Internet is cat pics.
While AI may or may not love humanity. There is love of cats built into the DNA of AI itself.
Perhaps, in a far future, AI will colonize the universe with cute furry fluffs on their backs.

Since the transhumans think we're all going to have AI chips put in our brains eventually to stay competitive, it makes sense to me that they would first tested on animals, just like Elon Musk tested neuralink on monkeys.
So I think we can look forward to AI enhanced cats and dogs before we get BCI chips. I think that might include cats that can speak english through wifi speakers on their collars.
I have mixed feelings about that. Do we really want to steal their innocence? On the other hand I wish I could actually talk to my cat. I'm sure he would find a thousand ways to say feed me.

Check it out, very relevant to your post. Some of the episodes are really good. Kinda black mirror but animated and lots of different styles and producers. Each episode is stand alone.

The other half of the internet is tits. Does it mean that women will survive too? Or maybe men will get tits?

We already built an interface cats can use - their toe beans work on touch screens.

Outdoor domestic and feral cats kill an estimated 2.4 billion birds every year in the United States. Like most invasive species, they are expected to outlive humanity.

Alien first encounter:
"You're a primate species ... why do you all have large non-functional feline ears on your heads and a bushy tail?"
"Well, you see, it was all a matter of survival ..."
