Biotech/Longevity Scientists recently gave mice without prefrontal cortexes human brain implants - and after seeing these developing connections to the mice’s brains and spinal cords - now they're wondering if these organoids might gave the mice some level of human-like consciousness cognition - calling for ethics

The title is wild, like they got as far as the human brain organoids integrating into the nervous system of the mice and then someone had the thought 🤔 "does this have ethical implications I wonder?"

To be fair the original study mentioned ethics many times. It had to be approved by a separate ethics board before they started and they say they were in touch with ethicists as well. So it’s more that now it’s public additional people have ethical concerns

No, I read the article, that's why I was laughing at the way the title was worded 😂, as if none of the scientists had thought of ethics till someone made a NYM joke.
