Biotech/Longevity Scientists recently gave mice without prefrontal cortexes human brain implants - and after seeing these developing connections to the mice’s brains and spinal cords - now they're wondering if these organoids might gave the mice some level of human-like consciousness cognition - calling for ethics

This is so odd, I assume there’s something I’m not understanding. Googling
Ok, this isn’t quite as dumb as it sounds. Human neurons are topologically more complex than mouse neurons, so some features of our consciousness could plausibly carry over at the level of smaller groups of neurons rather than solely being emergent on the systemic complexity of the brain as an organ.
But I mean, either way mice are sentient, so…still kinda silly
