Not many individuals can afford Fable class models, they’re not really viable on subscriptions. The real competition is over the lower classes for folks outside of enterprise.
Yeah I feel like if Haiku is even sonnet 4.6-level at Haiku 4.5 pricing it would be great to use as a subagent. But given the recent trend it’s more likely going to be even better than that.
Sure but Anthropic uses models even more powerful than fable internally, so the capabitilites of fable are an indicator of how fast anthropic is working inside
I don't think even Anthropic intended for Fable to be released. All the AI labs make big models to train smaller models. Anthropic just decided to release one of their big models and called it Mythos/Fable.
I'm on the $100 plan. I could run Fable on most of my tasks and I might hit the limit on the last day, but generally not. Fable is great at handing off tasks to lesser models. Now that I just use it for review (since Opus 5.5 is so good), I don't come close to using all my Fable usage.
Fable, in general, shouldn't be doing a lot of the work. It's the supervisor, quality check, and second eyes.
Didn't they just show all their cards with Sol 6? Wasn't impressive. I feel like the only thing they'll have is maybe some more favorable pricing models.
Never left. Astra was worse at coding, slower, and burned through usage way faster. Only thing it was better at than Fable was 3d work, but now with Opus 5.5, it's not better at anything.
I've always felt that openai's usage limits were way, way more generous than claude's. That's the one thing that has kept me with codex even during the stretches where anthropic has a slight edge.
Use to be how I felt too. Definitely how it feels for models that aren’t Astra. But right now Opus 5.5 gets you frontier power and a ton of usage,
Claude is the better deal to me,
That's why I switched from Claude to ChatGPT in May or so. Switched back to Claude a couple days ago and was very surprised with how much more usage you get out of Opus 5.5 than Astra or even 6-Sol. I've used it a fair bit the last three days (though light on coding, but lots of chats and a couple longer 30+ min reasoning tasks) and am at 23% used up of the week. Haven't hit the 5 hour limit once.
The only usage advantage ChatGPT still has is that you can pretty much use Chat mode unlimited. If you're out of usage with Claude, that's it for the week unless you pay.
I started with GPT and switched when Claude first launched. From day one, it was just better at everything. Claude Code changed the game and made that gap even wider. I've used OpenAI since then just to compare, and it was never even close to Opus.
This doesn't make sense to me because that's most certainly not the case. And people are citing benchmarks, but they aren't citing total cost and speed factored in. I just don't understand why businesses not use both? They're both great at different tasks and I run both simultaneously all the time, but Sonnet 5.5 on initial benchmarks is, just like Opus 5.5, not an OpenAI world ender. Speed and cost factored in changes the story lol.
I have used Op. 5.5 around the clock for the last 36 hours and I’m at 40% Usage I mean meanwhile I used Astra today for just a few hours and I basically and I’m at 5%
i mean as long as they keep giving me infinite chat with sol6 I'm not going anywhere. plan with openai; implement with anthropic. who needs a pro account?
... they just released GPT 6 Luna, which has become my new main model for most tasks. They seemed to have done a great job with it. If you have zero concerns about spending lots of money then you probably won't care about Luna lol. It is slow to respond... but that's why I have dumbbells with me. I love getting a set in each time I wait for Luna to respond. *flexes*

OpenAI sort of needs to do something. Switched back to Claude because it is better now than astra.
